| Think we're safe if fax lose tonight. Given wakey have Sheffield last game they should be safe in 4th even if they lose tonight. So wakey win tonight please.
Cracking result. Good to see our heads didn't go down when Leigh struck back at halftime and we stuck to gameplan. Thought sjielka had a good game and purtell had a cracker at standoff.

| Lauaki doesn't come back on in the second half. A smart decision from Lowes, or just because he was injured?
Hopefully it's the former and Jimmy has finally seen the light!

| How sweet was that! After that first game, Brierley lobbing the ball at fans, Barlow thuggery, Williams copping a punch in the back of the head when he wasn't even looking, getting called a 'Yorkshire d!ckhead' on my way out of the LSV with my little nephew who I'd just taken to his first away Bulls game - to this, leaving them behind in this division in their own back yard.
Still a long way to go for us, and we may well be renewing this rivalry next year, but for now I'm certainly gonna enjoy this sweet, sweet win. How's it taste, Derek?!
Just proves that it doesn't take any genius to beat them. Keep your head when they try their high, cheap, late tactics. Complete your sets, tire them out with repeats and strike when they tire after running round like headless chickens. Excellent stuff.

| Congratulations on the win today. Don't think either side where good to be honest. We gifted at least three tries to you. You can only beat what is front of you and you did that. Well done, good luck for the remainder of the season.

| The attitude and spirit in the Bulls team was the same as Jimmy got them up for the Salford game. As I said last week, the Widnes game was never one we were targeting but this was a must-win and Lowes got them up for it brilliantly.
It was not as polished, but it was every bit as gritty and determined, and the reason we won was because we again kept up relentless pressure for the full 80, we were at them tackled like tigers, and got in their faces, and the result was that we won the lion's share of field position, ball possession and must have murdered them in yardage.
Leigh on the other hand were rarely seen as the attacking force they can be, largely because our pack was pretty much on top, and we had the go-forward. No Gaskell trumps no Ridyard, but anyway I couldn't care less, all season you have to make the best of the troops you can field. Jimmy certainly did that.
Beating SL Salford as comprehensively as we did was mammoth, but winning the KEY game of the playoffs - away at Leigh - was in its own way every bit as creditable, if not more.
We got what we deserved, and now we have to come out with exactly the same determination and frame of mind at home to Fax. When, with any luck, Fax will have that lot plus Gaskell to worry about. Of course we are not in the million pound game yet, but if we lose to Fax at home then we would not deserve to be in it either. We certainly couldn't complain. Cometh the hour and all that.
So I am quietly confident we will be in the big game, but hope it doesn't trun into a huge anti-climax. If we get there then we really, really do need Gaskell fit and raring to go. He is good enough to worry any of the contenders. But if he's not fit, then all I ask is we put the same in to that game.

For someone who wasn't in the 19 I thought Purtell was outstanding. Well done to all the Bulls players, really pleased to see you put Leigh in their place.

| I've heard Leigh have signed Dayne Weston from Melbourne for next season as well as Hansen and Patterson, maybe The Buffoon was expecting his team to cruise through the middle 8s so looks like he will have to stick to his word about breaking the salary cap

| Good evening Bulls fans.
I would like to start by congratulating you all on a great performance, Bulls were by far the better team today.
Regardless of some spectacularly strange *see wrong* decisions by Silverwoood today, you earned your victory today.
I sincerely hope you go on to promotion to SL, for selfish reasons, a Championship without Bulls gives us a much better chance of topping the League again next season.
I feel that if Wakefield Trinity Schoolgirls are relegated, they go into oblivion like London, leaving Halifax & Eagles as the only contenders.
Check back *if you like* but I have stated all season since round 1 that you lot are the team to beat & worry about.
We need to strengthen ...
You need to go forth & claim back your 'rightful' SL place.

| Silverwood wrongly called a "forward pass" in the first half that would have put daylight between the teams. That was his worst decision i think but overall he had his usual solid and calm game. He was also wrong about the Mullaney "knock on", which could have been costly, but it did look suspicious so I can't blame him as he had to make the call. But the ball never touched the ground.

| Congratulations on a comprehensive victory, guys.
I don't know what's gone wrong with my team, but they have been a severe disappointment these past few weeks, and have now been found wanting, by two of the Championship teams we were at least the equal of, during the league campaign. Unfortunately, when you keep giving the opposition the ball, you will get punished, and that happened yet again, today.
However, you have come good when it matters, and it doesn't really surprise me, as I had you down as favourites for a SL place this season.
So, genuine good wishes for the £ Million pound game. I hope you succeed, because that would prove that it's possible for a Championship side to get promoted, using the current set up.
Well played, great support (we'll miss that if you go up!) and good luck.

World's most bizzare match report? www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... n-10093091
I'd think the majority of Leigh fans would say them being beaten was a fair result today, but this reads rather oddly for a professional bit of journalism
I wonder if it's some notes that have been mistakenly been uploaded. For reference incase it is edited -
[codeLeigh Centurions boss Derek Beaumont is reluctantly adhering to the old adage that good things really do come to those who wait.
He certainly hopes this will happen,
His dream of seeing Leigh returning to Super League in 2016 is over for this season and that’s a crushing body blow for a club doing everything they can to land a golden ticket to rugby league’s Promised Land.
Unfortunately for Leigh, there will no fairy tale finale to what seemed to be a wonderful campaign.
Derek knows that his club, the fans and their refreshing style of rugby can bring so much to the Super League table yet the Middle 8’s have not gone according to plan.
For some reason, it’s been a bloody dogfight and Leigh are left licking their wounds.
Leigh can certainly vouch for the theory that professional sport can be cruel.
Not so long ago, they were flying high, winning admirers and looking a good bet to get over the line in competition with four Super League teams.
Sport’s plentiful peaks and troughs can be mirrored perfectly by Leigh stuttering final steps.
In Super League, Saints have bounced back and the seemingly invincible Leeds Rhinos have struggled following Wembley glory.
Leigh have won just once in the Middle 8s and needed to beat Bradford to stay in the promotion mix.
Teams have busted a gut to halt and ambush the Centurions’ march.
It has even been claimed some have ‘‘picked their games’’ just to keep their head above water.
Leigh have come up short.
Micky Higham ran his blood to water against Bradford.
Gareth Hock nursed a broken nose and broken hearts were in plentiful supply come full time.
Such legendary and respected club ambassadors as Tommy Sale and Brian Bowman were there to witness it and have seen many highs and lows over the years.
This was a dark day.
Bradford’s win was not in the home script but Derek Beaumont remains typically bullish with structures already in place to eventually secure Leigh's place in the sun sooner rather than later.
Beaumont had a two year plan to take Leigh back into Super League and will now fulfil this tenure with the addition of three top class internationals to an already strong and united squad.
In coach Paul Rowley, he has a first class operative, a hungry leader who like him is a proud local man with a fervent passion money cannot buy.
This helps the cause enormously.
It has been said that the promotion setback could make Rowley an even better coach.
He is very much a student of the game and the last few weeks have been a learning curve in his continued rise to the pinnacle of his profession.
Leigh showed gritty steel to square matters at the break against Bradford but it was not their day. Referee Richard Silverwood was diabolical and the fans were left to drown their sorrows.
Derek sipped his own beer and spoke with fire, aggression and purpose at the finish in front of sponsors and supporters.
He is a real rugby man proud of his roots and of the hard work that has turned him into one of the North West’s most successful self styled business chiefs.
He never shies away from tough decisions and will certainly not back down from his quest to give the Leigh public what he feels they deserve - a team to challenge the best.
Leigh’s attacking rugby has lit up many a dull afternoon during a long Championship season but Beaumont is adamant he and the boys get back on the horse and go again soon after Bonfire Night.
They will do just that but right now, there are few fireworks and no street parties but expect Leigh to learn and be up there this time next year.
In defeat, they have been dignified and determined.
They have much going for them - far more than some Super League clubs but still they wait.
Most importantly, they have a dynamic leader in Sir Derek who is driving the bus.
He won’t stop until he reaches the planned destination of Super League status.
In the meantime, Leigh must make sure they now finish sixth, pip Halifax and secure the spoils of a £300,000 pot needed next year to see dreams turn to reality.
For Derek and Leigh, it’s one last throw of the dice with next term being so very important for both owner and his club.[/code

| I agree that Silverwood was diabolical. How he bottled the decisions to send that Leigh player off for the late challenge on O'Brien or Hock not getting sent off for going in knees first on Mullaney

| Really enjoyed yesterday! 1-17 were superb!
I'll give Harry Siejka massive credit. Thought he had his best game in a Bulls shirt. I've been a critic of his this year, but yesterday I thought he looked like a proper 7. Put in some great kicks, good passing and he took the line on a couple of times. Defensively he was a rock. Thought he had a clinical performance yesterday.
A'OB received the usual cheap shot (although Higsons was one of the worst he's received all year) but he looked everybit of the top class hooker we all know he's going to be!
