You can only do so much with those around you. I thought the forwards were relatively poor & the three-quarters, Kear aside, non-existent. Kear's best chances to show his pace were chasing back to almost stop the stunning Watkins' try & stopping Hardaker when clean through.

Even when he is playing behind a dominant pack he is an average player, when he hasn't got much space it only goes to emphasise how slow and predictable he is. Good players manage to shine even in a beaten team.

I would be intrigued to see Gale playing behind a dominant pack, or in a dominant team. His time at Donny, London & Bulls can't have presented that many opportunities, so I'm not sure what you base your evidence on. There is hardly a SL scrum half with that ability, probably only Brough & Burrow of the British halves would stand out on occasion.

The thing I've noticed about Gale is when he gets close to the line, he looks as if he has no idea what he's going to do (and not in a good way) This has nothing to do with playing behind a beaten pack.

Time and time again against Leeds and Wire he chose the wrong pass or literally just flung it without looking. We'll see how he goes next few games.
