Quote: amberavenger "Who wants to start the Michael Platt thread then?

I don't think I can remember a time when a team have dominated in possession and position so much and come away with so little. This of course is partly credit to Hull KR's superb defense, but it's also down to people with classy performances such as Morrison, Burgess and Menzies being let down by culprits such as Platt who aimlessly wander into touch. Essentially we're playing ourselves most of the time.

Great moment not long after Platt went off when Sykes went to FB put his body on the line, by sliding in and getting the ball cleanly. Can't imagine our first choice doing that.'"
That's only because he was so flat footed when the kick went over he couldn't get their first.

Quote: mystic eddie "The thing is, whilst I would rather wait and see how things pan out, it will basically be a futile exercise.

I won't start any polls, and I will not call for his head before week ten, but anyone who thinks that my opinion of the coach has changed until now are completely wrong.

What does interest me though is reading how many posts are regurgitating the same old problems from last season. He has changed nothing and solved nothing. He does not know [ihow[/i to.'"

And there was I thinking you'd agreed to give him, the team and us! a ten week break . . . . . I didn't realise you'd only agreed not to start any more polls & ask for his head within that time frame.

You're right on the same old stuff being regurgitated

Quote: ritz "Eh wtf, how was it platts fault, did nowt wrong at all, caught everything that went his way, didnt knock on, if anyone was poor id say sherriffe, offered us nothing, on this showing halley has got to get his place back.
We had chances to go for 2 time and again but didnt just to cough ball up, but late in second half kr knocked on, burgess picked up and ran through ref pulled it back and said he`d already blown up for knock on.

Vella is a nutcase and must be banned.

Nero was much better, sykes played better when he went to fb, but nothing at all wrong from platt.'"
Spot on play Tupou when fit instead.

Quote: Bully_Boxer "I thought today we were let down by the half backs and our hookers. I thought Morrison did more creating than either Deacon or Jeffries today.

We had the chance to kill the game with possession but Jeffries came up with a crucial error to allow Hull KR a way back. The kicking game was generally poor, with a poor kick from Deacon being the main cause of conceding the first Hull KR try.

On the plus side I thought Nero, Morrison, Sykes, Menzies, Scruton and Burgess all looked good. Nero especially looked dangerous and caused Hull KR defence to scramble several times, hopefully he will come good this year. We looked pretty fit considering the lack of gametime but our timing was out and far too often our first pass went behind or forward!

Plenty to improve on but I expected it to be a scrappy game given the stop start nature to our season so far.'"

I would agree with all of that more or less.
But then you and I were both watching the game rather than commenting about something we know nothing about whatsoever.

Like Ryan, I hope we play London next week. It would be the only fair decision but would be against the wishes of London which means it is unlikely to happen.

We need some match practice and our half backs need to shake themselves off. Terry Newton needs to have some words with himself and Platty needs to stop trying so hard!
We've lost opening games in seasons we've gon on to win so I'm not too worried really. We're doing better than some and a point is a point!
Home to Hull KR should have been a good 2 points but it turned out to be just 1.
I want to see 100% improvement for next time but I'm far from despondent.

Quote: !RYAN! "Heard some idiot on Radio Leeds radio McNamara out etc, thats ridiculous, considering we haven't had any games against SuperLeague opposition and they had Salford last week we played well, if we had of kicked out penalties and pratt hadn't have messed up then we would have won easily, Hull KR's defence was solid and deserve credit after taking some massive hits from Burgess, Koppy, Morro, Beaver and Scruton. Worried about injury news on Langley and Solo - Both shoulder dislocations, shame we don't have a game next week, we could do with the match fitness - I think we will do well this year and KR will defo finish in the top 5

Your Thoughts?'"
The most disapointing thing about today is was how we played just like last season nothing had changed. A very poor attacking display and allowing the opposition to make far too many easy yards.

Quote: debaser "I thought it was dire. Sorry and with all due respect to KR, we should be winning these games. We were lucky to draw. The backs looked incapable of any penetration at all and there was just no spark or imagination to break down a very well drilled defence. I'm very disappointed. Yes its the first game of the season but so what? Its the first game for all the teams. We should be fully fit and raring to go. I hope it improves but I already have a horrible feeling that we are in for another long season.'"
Finally some one with some sense.

I thought today Deacon was like an NFL kicker who just came to take the kicks because he wasn't doing any thing else.

Quote: Highlander "RFL I think. We had 2 lower league friendlies then a friendly against KR lined up. Reasonable preseason warmup I thought.

Everyone was rusty today. Our defensive systems looked good - although not much pressure put on them. The two tries were individual errors. Not much changed there then.

Attacking wise - Hull KR were very solid, we made rookie errors ie no-one at the ptb, passing the ball onto Scrutons head. Hopefully (please!) match practice will help with this.

Referee (and his assistants) made a lot of mistakes. Some were in our favour and some against and some were totally just wrong.'"
icon_confused.gif If you consider allowing them to make 40- 50 meters most sets I'd agree.

No problem! Now when are you going to come and watch a game and so have chance of a balanced and considered comeback?

If your going to comment get your facts right. When we charged it down the Hull player then knocked on . So according to the rules this is classified as a double knock on with Bradford's being the first hence the Hull KR feed at the scrum.
