Spends a lot of time in the pie shop by the looks of it.
I'm going to have to stop agreeing with mystic Eddie so often, called it spot on again. Olbison has had a few decent games, but I fear he's going to end up like Ainscough. Bags of effort but doesn't have the skills to match it.
Tbh the only ones with any credit last night are the two Welshmen IMO.

| It was like watching a McNamara team all over again last night which has to be a worry.
Leeds were hot, they'd clearly gone for the jugular from the the off and after three unanswered tries the game was pretty much up.
What could we have done to slow their play-the-ball which was about as fast as I've ever seen it? Reminded me of St Helens in their Super League heyday. They didn't seem to have a problem slowing ours down (but that was probably the pedestrian way we ran into tackles at times).

| We're sat 7th in the table after getting beaten by an on form Leeds side and fans are going way over the top as usual.
I also can't believe some of the players getting criticism either, the comment about Olbison is ridiculous. Sammut makes mistakes but at least he creates something, unlike Gale who is consistently a passenger throughout games. He has been a massive flop. People slated Addy but for me he offered as much in attack whilst also acted as another forward in defense, something we need with our light pack, Gale is non-existent in defense.
We really did miss Langley and I would have also played Donaldson, maybe not the best going forward but at least he is solid in defense.

| I have seen some of your opinions on Olbison, I personally rate the guy. Not had enough chances in previous years in my opinion but in all fairness we have had better second rowers (Elima, Whitehead, Bateman).
Donaldson would have been the steady man in this match with his defence, almost like a Mike Forshaw however Forshaw could attack too, Donaldson can't. Personally I'd let him go considering he doesn't offer much and players such as Wardle left because they didn't get along with him.
Evans atm is not match fit. In last night's game he was always the last man back into the line and it proved costly when McShane ran at him then brushed Evans off when he finally got onside for McGuire's try. I do understand that he hasn't had a pre-season with us and it's his 3rd game back from injury so when he does get fit I think he will be a great addition.
Walker was crap last night. Not usually like him but he missed a shed load of tackles which led to tries. Gale has been poor since he came back again this may be down to lack of fitness but choosing the wrong ball 8/10 isn't going to win us games. Drop him for a couple of weeks so he can get fit and play with either Addy or Kearney at 6.
Too many mistakes were made I expect them to get bollocked and come back to hammer the Broncos next week and progress in the cup. This season's aim is to finish in the playoffs and start to properly re-build after last year. Although I am extremely upset at losing to Leeds take the emotion out of the game and they outclassed us but it didn't help that we were poor. Hopefully finish in the top 8, get a good cup run going (QF or SF) then focus on re-building for next year.
Look on the bright side......we are 7th (on track with our aim) and for the first time in years we are ABOVE SAINTS in the league!!!

I agree it is ridiculous that Gale is being slated after just returning from a pretty a serious ankle injury and without a full pre season behind him. Not really sure what supporters are expecting of him when the team aren't punching through and getting a quick PTB to give him some space to work in. If he still isn't performing in a month or so then perhaps the criticism would be a little more fair.
Regarding Sammut I like watching him but if we are looking for scapegoats he has to be up there when it comes to costly mistakes. In the last few matches he has come up with too many handling errors and kicking out on the full how many times? Teams are targeting him close to the line and they're scoring from it. I prefer not to single out individuals too often but let's have a little bit of balance please.

Who is going way over the top then? Pretty fair comments IMO. As for Olbison? It is all about opinions. Mine is that he is nowhere near good enough. Sorry!

Gale was poor last year even when he did get a run of games, excuses for him are running out. Fans expected when he returned we would improve, I hope I'm wrong but I can't see it happening.

Yes he makes mistakes, some of which have been costly, he has also won games for us on his own. For me the biggest concern is how we react when there is a mistake.

| All opinions,I don't rate Addy and Donaldson, I think Gale is very good and was last year, can't judge him this year so far.
Sammut is very hot and very cold, I think his defence is shocking, and it's starting to prove costly, his attacking play is something we haven't had for a while,do we accept this is how it's gonna be with him and just enjoy what he does with ball in hand
On Olbison I will reserve judgement, I'm still waiting to be convinced about him
On Walker, thought he started the season very well, but as with Sammut, his defence is also starting to prove costly
On Diskin,I think it's time Obrien starting getting more games
Also last night what really stood out was the quick PTB from Leeds and how quick they were out of dummy half, the number of times Burrow had acres and bags of time before any bulls player got anywhere near him, that was very worrying

| Sammutt i dont think IMO is all that bad in defence and usually gets stuck in - just seems to have an issue tackling the centres/wingers as they just brush him off,
And as for Diskin totally agree, far too slow nowadays and when he went off mid first half are attack seemed to speed up (abeit not scoring enough) - Obrien needs to be given some games now and give the lad some experience,
The thing i like about O'Brien is he is fairly unknown to the rest of the league so probably a bit more unpredictable than alot of hookers at the mo,
I personally (IMO) believe the first try was due to diskin being slow and out of position, he was too close to the next man and left a gaping hole for Watkins to stroll through (RANT OVER)

| What we've seen of late is that we are rather a long way from challenging any of the title contenders. Unless you are particulary delusional, it shouldn't be much of a suprise. And yet, theres every chance we will make the top 8 by simply beating our average peers.
Having a top 8 playoff system rewards some really feeble teams who have no place competing with the big boys at the end of the season. Some say that if it were top 6 only, we middle of the road teams would have nothing to play for. Well that's just tough in my opinion. The likes of the Bulls, Trin and Hull KR offer nowt from 7th and 8th.

| I can't blame Sammut near the line.....he has to go high and try a full man tackle (gripping the ball or the entire man) otherwise he goes low, makes the tackle but they just reach out and score or fall over the line. Good tactic to target him near the line. Imagine having Scruts or Manny run at Burrow near the line....Burrow wouldn't stand a chance either.

Yeh he was really poor last year, so poor that Huddersfield Giants wanted him for 2013.

But if it was top 6 (and I agree top 8 is too many) then given where we are in the table, we certainly would have a helluva lot to fight for right now.

Apparently..................... along with half our squad. They would have done us a favour to be honest.
