| Sorry if this has been mentioned before but if Heath or Bryn get suspended does that include cup games?

Yes.
Doncaster have 2 players serving the 2nd game of their suspension against the Bulls on Sunday.

The competition pot is additional money gathered from sponsorship, TV rights etc
The money from these games pretty much has the power to make or break clubs like Doncaster, the revenue raised can be enough to stop us going under for another year. Remember passing a bucker round to survive as a perennial exercise for many teams at our level'"
That's certainly my understanding of way cup gate receipts are split, unless rules this year. Can't see that as of they took away gate receipts most of lower league clubs wouldn't enter cup. One possibility is it specific to and the nee lease arrangements i.e. Our rent only covers SL games and rfl takes cup receipts. Poor arrangement if we've agreed to that though.

All the more reason for supporters of both clubs to get to the game.

Took some doing but finally found relevent rules. see here
rlhttps://www.therfl.co.uk/operational_rulesrl
section a3:10 covers it. PDF doesnt allow cut and pasting but to praphrase
of the net gate receipts (ie after vat deducted).
5% goes into cup prize fund.
15% to host club if SL (otherwise 5%, presumably on assumption the bigger grounds cost more to open).
travelling expenses to the visiting team.
Remainder of money is then spli 50/50 between the two teams.

All the gate money goes straight into the RFL's central pot which ultimately ends up as the competition money.'"
Don't think so Mick.
If that's the case then it'll be Keighleys turn to have a Quest for Survival.
Sundayg game against Warrington is worth a fortune to a club like us.

| think someones been told we wont make money off game and misunderstood that as all the gate receipts go to RFL.
I've heard figure of 25k quoted as what i costs us to open odsal for a game. assuming 4k gate at £15 a head. we'd get 15% (9k) plus 40%(24k). so a actual profit of only 8k.donny would get 24k. obviously the higher the gate gets the more money we get. Really for early cup games its better for SL clubs financially to get an an away tie. Its just a factor of the relative sizes of stadium invoved and the likely attendances at this stage of cup.

You should have swapped it to the Keepmoat, probably cheaper to run and it'd have been a nice day out for some of your players to get to play at a ground like ours (joke)
Surely in the interest of your current situation, it's be easier to say to someone "Throw 15 quid in this bucket and see a game, than throw something in this bucket for nowt"

| So- we had 18 fit players at Widnes. Bateman will be back but we will almost certainly lose Heath to suspension. Sammut is out. There are a few players with knocks.
This is the type of game you would consider resting players who are carrying knocks or who have been ever-present this season (Hargreaves?) but we would have to seriously raid the u20's who have injury probs as well. A couple of the better u18's prospects actually played for the u20's last Saturday as cover.

| Naughton looks a cracking prospect, if Kearney moves to 6 i'd love him to get a shot.

There will have to be some sort of squad rotation I would think. Unfortunately will have to be a lot of youngsters.
