You are joking. Whilst I will agree that we didn't take hordes of supporters it was a poor effort from the good people of Wakefield for a team in such a great position as we are constantly being told.

I remember seven or eight years ago a Bulls fan on this board trying to convince me that the 'people's team' had found a new way to attract fans and that crowds would stay up even if they had a poor patch. Clearly wrong - all clubs get boosted crowds with success, and lose them with failure. That's also the reason for the poor Wire turn out last night - you probably haven't noticed but home gates are well down at Wire, too, this season. As for Hudds, I'm pleased they are finally getting more than a couple of dozen speccies turning up in what is, after all, the 'home town' of rugby league. However, the time to gloat over Bulls fans is when you've averaged more than 10,000 per home game for more than ten years as Bradford have, not after half-a -dozen games in one season.

supported them through the bad times, remember the 80's?? the early years of super league? well we are still here, i doubt many bradford or indeed leeds or saints fans would stick with the club through bad times like we have.. see how bradford have "lost" 6,000 fans since they became crap?

So what are these 'new' supporters at the Giants? Will they hang about when the Giants begin to slip down the table again? Whether that be this year.. or in 5 years time.

get to as many games as i can, cant go to every game for obvious reasons or i'm on duty, people like me cant go to every game to boost the attendance. does this make me a glory hunting fan?

i think its fair to say that, apart from you guys on here, your crowds were only there for the 'fun of bullmania' when a trip to Odsal meant a family day out with loads of entertainment for the kids and families and the side show of a Rugby match which the Bulls more than likely won by blowing their opponents away.

The kids could play on the bouncy castle, the mum's could sing and boogie to the music and the dad's could watch the game.
Bullmania has gone and so have the families and i guess the fun of a day out at the Rugby too.
Now i would guess that the people who attend Odsal are the people who were there before the Bulls,Robbie Paul,Vainikolo,Bouncy castles etc - the people who will always be there and they are the true Rugby League fans of Bradford who have never really cared too much for the gimmicks and Razzmatazz but were quite happy for these 8-9000 new fans to come along too.
Maybe i'm wrong and its the long term fans who have had enough i dont know but whoever they are they will be back when the Bulls rise again !!

On field success or the promise of on field success is what fundmentally brings the crowds in as seen at Huddersfield at the moment and the opposite at Bradford. You will always get that. Well success and cheap season tickets.

You could always offer to ground share with Wakefield, although 12,000 capacity stadium is a little ambitious for you at the present rate of decline.

except dispite one bad attendance we are still averaging over 11,000 for home games this year and we've had two attendances that would have exceeded that 12,000.

Back in 1995 I went to Northern games with a couple of mates. By 1999 there were 12 or 13 in our group. Now we're down to 5.

None of those that have stopped going have done so because we've stopped winning cups. A couple were kids who were attracted to bullmania, grew up and developed other interests as teenagers do. The rest have stopped going due to moving out of the area, job or family commitments. One, sadly, died.

I'm sure all clubs lose fans for these reasons. Our problem is probably that we aren't replacing those people with new fans. And we wont do that until there is the return of the feelgood factor.

That's about right. Wire had a load of quite fetching young ladies handing out those flags to all their fans up above the Rooley Avenue terrace. Hundreds of them. Presumably another example of Moran's largesse, but a bloody good idea I thought. We used to have good marketing ideas like that once...
