Agreed. I have looked at the pictures from Oldham and my shirt and the V is different and also not as bright.

Had a look last night and the away shirt looks nothing at all like the promo pictures that we were led to believe we were buying; think there will be a few annoyed fans and children.

It's not that far off. Just the V isn't as silver.

Colours are slightly darker on the supporters version. Collar is also different to the players version.

I've now seen clearer pictures on Facebook.

The collars I can forgive. They're often different on playing and replica shirts.

But the colour? The smart looking silver is gone and it's essentially just a slightly lighter shade of black forming the V. (Well, incredibly dark gray, since you can't really have "light black"icon_wink.gif. Certainly different enough that it looks very much like a rip off.

Bulls have now put out a statement claiming that the original shirts in all the pictures and the ones played in at Oldham weren't actually the correct shirt....



The website bloke still can't spell "original" though (although the spell checker has since corrected it)...

That statement looks like it's been written by someone whose first language isn't English. We seem to be going from bad to worse. Not only a massive cock up over the away shirts, the statement on the website doesn't even make sense....

I know we are playing 'catch up', but it's time we started getting these little things right!

It's worrying that we can't seem to find someone to even write and proof read a simple spell press release properly. Again, how hard can that be? 99% of people on here could do a better job.

Spelling "original" with an extra O doesn't even need a proof read. It needs a basic spell checker which a lot of internet browsers would do for you even if you don't own a license for Word Processing software. Somehow that even managed to pass the first "release". Surely you run that before you press "Submit" on the website editor?

I can understand people moaning about the slight contrast between what the players are wearing and what is being sold to the supporters. But let's be honest, people will buy it regardless if it's black, silver, pink or poop stained brown.

People need to get out more if they're complaining about the kit. Just remember, we didn't have a club to support 5 months ago. The new owners are doing their best. Judging from that poorly written statement the squad will now be wearing the newer, more darker away jersey.

Also, can we please address the issue with these press releases. It's beyond a joke now.

I disagree. What you're saying there is along the lines of what a few people on facebook have been saying. The "Be happy you have a club to support and don't complain when they rip you off. Just give them your money and stop moaning" approach isn't one I subscribe to. They still need to make things value for money, and offering substandard merchandise (i.e. something that isn't as advertised) is not a way to please customers and encourage people to spend their hard earned.

Whoever does the match reports also has problems with his/her spellchecker. I assume it's set to English (USA) as it seems to spell defence with an 's'. Personally, I view American spellings as being on a par with pidgin. Fair enough, absolutely anyone can make a typo but it takes a spellchecker to get it wrong twice in the same report.

It could be worse. Bongser recently contacted a pal at a leading UK publisher to ridicule what he had just found in his inbox. Graphics all very nice but spoilt by the following imponderable:

"Offer available until stocks last,"

The person responsible should be in said stocks! Until they last.

You only need worry if it turns out that the lad/lass posting on your website is alwrist awing up the players contracts and registration requests!

I saw plenty of people in the away shirt at the game today. I have to say I thought it looked good and will probably get one. From a distance the V and the stripes were visible and I like that they are a little more subtle than on the 'fake' shirt that the players wore at oldham. Good variation of colours in the sponsors too which all stand out really well with the shirt being black.

The route to getting the shirts on sale has been extremely unprofessional but hopefully now a few people will have seen them being worn at matches and that they are actually pretty nice, they may start to shift a few.

To be honest, I'm a bit less impressed by the actuality than I was by the original photo, even though I thought [ithat[/i was more like something Leigh Centurians might have worn, rather than us.

Shirt gate seems imho to be a massive over reaction,
If I was wanting to get Irate about any aspect of the new clubs running it would be the desperate need for new players that aren't coming, and visa gate added to this the total silence with regards to the former.

And the fact that we can't write a simple press release in English...

If the club hadn't marketed it for weeks like that was the shirt that was going to be on sale, it would be something of nothing. But they did. Sorry, but not a single part of me believes that they knew a different shirt was going to be delivered, otherwise it would have been mentioned earlier so fans were aware. Instead they marketed the "other" shirt for weeks and then got caught with their pants down when a different shirt appeared, then (bizarrely) appeared to carry on like nobody would notice, then when they did came out with some total bull excuse as damage limitation.

They've made themselves look really really stupid. Which is unfortunately becoming a regular occurrence with this media guy.

The whole situation did have a sense of "Shhhh, hope that nobody notices" about it, which riles fans and pretty much insults their intelligence!

Completely agree with the above. If they's just come out and said "sorry we've messed up but hopefully you will like the "new" new away shirt and buy it anyway" then fair enough. To try to hide behind excuses is just poor judgement in my opinion, like announcing you've re-signed Chissy until its all done and dusted.
Who makes these decisions and would you like to explain to us the paying customers, or will you just hope we keep on taking crap forever? Now that we are entering a very tough period of the season and sucesss on the field is going to be scarce, you can't afford to p*ss supporters off any further.
