News coming from the club via Connor on twitter is that Heath hasn't fractured his ankle. He has ligament damage, brings forward his return date by about a month.

All change according to the bulls site, it's now damaged ligaments so that could be some good news with luck

wouldnt a fracture show up on xrays straight away, even if there was swelling? struggling to understand how they could mis-diagnose this. Still good news if hes back earlier.

I can see why it wouldn't have been picked up as it all depends on when the X Ray is taken (before or after swelling has started/reduced) and the angle of the X Ray also playing it's part as if it's not the optimum angle to give a full clear diagnosis fracture and then if gastrografin contrast (which tastes bloody awful if your not a fan of licorice) had been needed to illuminate the area of the suspected fracture.

My guess is a 5/8 X Ray then a CT/MRI Scan and yes it is great news if Heath is going to be back earlier

Broken bones are really straight forward, I mean they dont need corrective surgery and manipulation or anything. I can see how that's straight forward.

I damaged my ankle ligaments quite badly.

Doc said in A&E that for the next two weeks I'd be pleased it was ligaments and not broken, but for the next two years after that I'd wish it had been broken.

As you all know the human body possesses amazing healing powers that enable it to bounce back from a vast array of illnesses and injuries and broken bones are indeed pretty simple in that a Pot/Cast of the injuried area and plenty of rest will do the job.

Some people would be shocked at the resiliency and strength that are bones can withstand.

Sorry to hear that mate, but I really hope that the injury to Heath doesn't have any underlying repercussions as we near the busisness end of the season when he has recuperated from his injury.

I wish the breaks through my tib and fib healed quite straight forward.

In all seriousness, those who slag off the club for not giving accurate information on player injuries will surely be eating a little humble pie around now? A lot of clubs would have kept this news to themselves, then surprised opposition by bringing the player back earlier than anticipated, so that they hadn't prepared properly for him. Naming no names of clubs there of course. Our club has give the fans a bit of good (or at least less bad) news instead.

Some other clubs would have kept their mouths shut until they knew the full extent of the injury, rather than deliver three differing prognosis within the space of a few days!

I'll leave this to people far more qualified than me because I've suffered broken bones that healed quickly but I once broke a small bone in my wrist - that didn't even hurt really and only went to casualty because I was told to - and had a cast on for 16 weeks because the blood supply wasn't very good.

On the other hand I've heard that ligament damage is often worse than a fracture but I really don't know. If the club are releasing press statements saying it's less bad news then I'll drink to that!

With L'Estrange injured let's hope that if Diskin will play the full 80 that he doesn't get injured!

Shame you don't know the actual circumstances of what happened, and why the announcements were made as they were, as you would almost certainly not have posted what you did. As far as I can determine, there was no fault attaching to either club or player. The fault lay elsewhere.

Confirmed that he never had a fracture to his ankle, but still got his in a boot for the next 2 week, then light training will start.
