I work in the fancily titled Directorate that also manages the refectory where the gig took place. I have numerous meetings in the adjoining building, the photos of some of the bands playing there is staggering. However, in the 5 years I have been here there is barely a band I have wanted to see.

Rochdale have allocated their Willbuts Lane stand to us. This is a 3,400 seat stand down one side of the ground.
Tickets are £12 adults, £8 concessions and £5 "kids"
These are available now from the Bulls ticket office (where the club get a commission) or on the day.
The coach price is £11 from Odsal.
So..£23 for a ticket and travel or £19 for us oldies.
It would have been all pay at full rate had the match been at a home = £20/£15 concession standing: and £25/£20 concession seating.
My old lass and I are two of the smarmy rich bast@rds in the premier seats and our tickets at home would have cost £30/25 concession.
So a saving on concessions of £12 for both of us - travel included.

Yeah but you're an old fogey now. Bands aren't like Crème brûlée any more.

| Tens of thousand acclaim to have the seen the last Beatles concert in Bradford in 1964. I know my first wife did as she told me so.
When we met some months later it was a romantic moment to recall that we had, on that very night in October, been within yards of each other. Her in the Gaumont and me passing it's door on transit from the Lord Clyde to the Metropole.
We are still married in no little part I think due to that magic moment of coincidence.
I still refer to her as my first wife just to keep her on her toes

| I thought that 1964 concert in Bradford was the only one they didn't sell out? Typical Bradford apathy!

I don't remember that, is it really true or just one of those stories? Mind, the Gaumont, in its original condition before it was partitioned, held around 3k so it would take a big audience to totally fill it.

I'd put that down to good taste more than apathy.

One of the few bands I have seen at Bradford Uni. Must have been 17 years ago at least. I seem to remember a topless dancer.

It's one of my Dad's oft repeated tales. I'm not sure to whether to believe it or not. Like his stories about once being a lion tamer or being Steve McQueen's mate.

Granted the first few Beatles albums are a bit formulaic to modern ears but Rubber Soul and Revolver are superb albums.
Better than owt Mott the Hoople did anyway

Everything has its time. I have never got the Beatles adulation, not a patch on the stuff the Stones, Kinks or Pretty Things were doing. Discuss (FA - you are limited to one side of A4).

As someone said in Manchester, "if this was the seventies they'd have their norks out".
I saw Nirvana at Bradford Uni'. Spiritualized too. They came on to strobe lights and a five minute long wall of noise and it felt like half the crowd fell over from the sensory overload. Awesome times.
I don't remember the last time there was a gig here. Must be ten years ago at least, not counting InFest.

| I turned down the chance to see Nirvana at Bradford Uni in 1991
I went to the Mock Turtles there instead
The last band I saw there was The Fall in either 94 or 95.

Can't believe I missed the Fall. The only other band I recollect playing in my time was Bjorn Again. I didn't go, obviously, but the campus was filled with mock 70s Swedes for the day, which was nice.
