Yep. The pitch issue probably needed a couple of paragraphs in a build up to what was a crucial game. As you say, the fact he's not even commented on the on-field action just fuels the accusations having an axe to grind.

Our pitch size hasn't just had more media attention than our game itself, but it's had more media coverage than Catalans trouncing Wigan, Wakefields superb win over an in-form Huddersfield team. Yes a championship teams pitch size has had more media coverage than Super Leagues actual on field action!! Then the same media will be asking "why doesn't the sport have a bigger profile?"

Anyway back on topic, I think Bullseye covered it all. The stadiums has certainly had a tidy up. Barriers shot blasted and repainted, terracing jet washed. The touchdown bar has had the outside renovated and looks smart. A lot of hard work has gone into it

as I understand it the pitch is only going to narrow for the Newcastle game. After that their doing something with the corners to allow it to be wider. Heard something along lines of we weren't planning to go back to Oodsal until later in the year but went back early due to limited numbers we were going to be allowed at Dewsbury. Whatever they are doing for corners is still being manufactured but should be in place for next home game. I assume its some sort of artificial grass there going to put down.

What’s the issue with putting stands up at Horsfall?

Council refuse to license ground for more than 5000. Which would only be a problem for a couple of games a year at Championship level but would effectively mean we would need to relocate again if we got promoted.

Also a problem if we draw a SL team in the cup - e.g. Leeds.

The pitch at odsal will (supposedly) be back up to specification width by the next home game after Newcastle so how much longer term thinking is needed?

we've got dispensation to use Odsal for Newcastle game. Why on earth would we spend money putting temp stands at Horsfall for a game we can play at Odsal?. Plus we'd miss entertainment value of watching everyone whine about the pitch size
