Hopefully they'll at least agree to only play after the Bulls score. That should see its use reduced considerably!

I texted Stuart Duffy during the game to plead for the jingle to be stopped. I hope we bin it off and soon, it was the jingle equivilent of having MC Wiggy do the pre match warm up.

I'm certain I heard this annoying noise at Odsal tonight in the U20 game.

If we beat Warrington they can play Marching on together at the kick off for all I care.

I really hope someone at the club has taken note of the widespread disliking of this stupid noise. It's annoying and embarrassing - especially when it highlights how many tries are being scored against us! It made me cringe every time they played it at the wigan game. Their fans were even chanting "what the f*****g hell was that!"

I think that sums it up, to be honest.

There's nothing intrinsically [iwrong[/i with the little trumpet and drum thingy, it's just just being played when the Odsal faithful are pretty pigged off and not very receptive to it (aka just when we've conceded a try). And, of course, the more we concede the less receptive we become so someone really ought to bite the bullet and say enough is enough, 'cos I for one don't want to hear it a dozen times (or so?) this Saturday.

Incidentally, I don't think it's done to "put off the receiver", any more than it was when, a few years back, Leeds used a cavalry charge bugle tune whenever [ithey[/i kicked off. Actually the Leeds tune was probably more appropriate as it suggested a call to arms after conceding a score. The Bulls one is pretty anonymous in comparison. To be fair to Leeds (I never thought I would [iever[/i write those words), I think the "marching on" song is cut off on the PA when the ball is kicked off but it is carried on by the band in the crowd, though as the TV point is directly over where the band is and where the crowd are singing, I can understand why many won't realise this.

I emailed stuart duffy about the god awful noise, and told him if it continues we will be branded a laughing stock on he would reply within 48 hours, that was after the wigan debacle and ive not recieved anything.

Touched a nerve me thinks.
