Fail to see why you say it isn't Smith's fault (that he couldn't get the team to play) but it was Lowe's fault that he couldn't.

The time for brutal honesty is here. Being billed is poor but irrelevant, the point is we are and have been simply not good enough to get results against our main rivals, Fev looked far better than us, and the result was easily the fair and right result.

Our inquest (if there is any point in one ) is all about how the club has been allowed to descend to a level well below that of Fev, Batley and (even though they didn't qualify) Halifax.

People need to accept that we HAVE sunk to mid table mediocrity. Denial does not help anything. I have been predicting for a long time that we would not make the playoffs and am sloughened and take no pleasure in being proved right, but I really can't see where we go from here.

A lot of it seems to be Smith having to fight against the ingrained Lowes attitude of "Certain games don't matter" as well as certain players having one eye on next year and have already, mentally, left the club.

Smith is a coach, Lowes isn't. Today was a shambles but Smith got us in a short time to a position where our destiny was in our own hands, yet it is not his team and he's only been here 5 minutes. No doubt he will take the responsibility, but what I am saying is the overriding point that while could have performed better, Fev would still have won 19 times out of 20 in that game cos Fev are better than we are.

What happens if we can't even afford to pay the 2017 contracted players?

We could quite feasibly be in a position right now where our wage bill is significantly higher than our central funding / income in general.

I don't think we deserved anything from the game and certainly not a replay but the game was easily 4 min plus short.

I think we now need to get the players that will be here next year out on the park in the Losers Trophy. However I would send today's 17 on the trips to Cumbria.

1. Its not the official clock.
2. The clock runs when the ref stops the clock then when he waves play back on the clock is reset at the correct time when the ref called time off.

On to our lot. yes the omission of O'brien was just plain wrong. But lets be honest, how much of a difference would hr have made? 1-17 were an utter disgrace today. Its a team game.
