Quote Bully_Boxer="Bully_Boxer"I thought today we were let down by the half backs and our hookers. I thought Morrison did more creating than either Deacon or Jeffries today.
We had the chance to kill the game with possession but Jeffries came up with a crucial error to allow Hull KR a way back. The kicking game was generally poor, with a poor kick from Deacon being the main cause of conceding the first Hull KR try.
On the plus side I thought Nero, Morrison, Sykes, Menzies, Scruton and Burgess all looked good. Nero especially looked dangerous and caused Hull KR defence to scramble several times, hopefully he will come good this year. We looked pretty fit considering the lack of gametime but our timing was out and far too often our first pass went behind or forward!
Plenty to improve on but I expected it to be a scrappy game given the stop start nature to our season so far.'"
You just typed nearly everything I was thinking but add Koppy and Cook to the list of players that looked good. Now Solomona and Langley are out, probably for a few weeks if they have dislocated shoulders, then these boys and some of the other younger players in the squad get a great chance to play and show what they can do.
Very rusty and poor execution but equal amounts of this from both teams. It is encouraging just how long we spent in the Hull KR half and how much possession we had but equally as discouraging that we let them score the vital points they did with the few opportunities they had.
I think we need to stand a bit deeper when attacking too as far too many times we are playing the ball flat to players that are standing still and there is no un-obvious dummy runners running at it to confuse defenders and create gaps. Several times Morrison and Menzies did some clever running out wide only for everyone else to be either level with or in front of them so nobody to pass to.
