| I note with interest one para of Connor's latest piece:
"A heavy influx of players means the spine of the team could be completely transformed, with Matt Diskin joining L’Estrange and Wayne Godwin at hooker and Marc Herbert coming in at scrum half, [iwhile a new stand-off is also expected[/i." (my emphasis).
Ok, nothing new...but Connor being Connor - and I know from the man himself how he prides himself on getting things correct - I can't see he'd make that statement unless he (still) felt reasonably confident?
Of course he COULD mean someone new playing stand-off rather than a new player, but I never had Connor down for being as disingenuous as some on here so hopes must remain justified?

i picked this up from the ainscough interview:
Quote One of ten new arrivals so far, with potentially more still to come, Ainscough joins a Bulls side undergoing a drastic transformation. '"

| Hmm... Methinks Connor may be risking sending mixed messages...?
Any of you expert twitterers fancy asking him to clarify...? I haven't really got the hang of this tweeting business yet, having only squawked a couple of times and jumped when someone got me back...

Adeybull, funnily enough! Not got it sorted on my phone or anything yet though, so I'd not be expecting great things of it!
I've done another one with my real name, at least so its there if I ever need it.

| Quote ="DILLIGAF"Let's say Cas are wanting to sign Monaghan. Theoretically, if he agreed terms with Bradford and wanted to sign for us, it would be on the proviso we got rid of someone on our quota. The only rumour we've heard from this is Glenn Hall possibly to Cas. If Cas want Monaghan themselves, would they be willing to take Hall off our hands in order for us to sign Joel instead? Or would they say no, bugger off, so that we can't sign Monaghan and he's more likely to pick another club?
All theoretical obviously, but just pointing out that if you put the rumours together, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
The only way we're getting Monaghan is if Glenn Hall is off back to Aus, as has also been rumoured on here.
If Monaghan is really interested in having a massive season over here, then I'd love to see him sign for us. I'll happily ignore the "controversy" as I think it's been massively blown out of proportion anyway. The only reason I wouldn't want him is if he's just treating it as a holiday until he can play in Oz again, Chris Walker style. If he's committed to playing his best, he would be a superb signing for any SL club.'"
that would be only worry I'd have about signing him. But if it was only a 1 yr deal then I think the potential benefit would outweigh any risk.

| latest version of hall to cas rumour to surface on one of t'other forums is as follows. Hall and godwin to cas on permanent deals with olbison going on loan. In return we get rangi chase on a 2 year deal. Can't see there being much in it although from our pov we lose a couple of players who seem to be a bit surplus to requirements to get the standoff we need. And I wouldnt be surprised if olbison does go out on loan somewhere next year. Maybe someones picked up on a loan deal and put 2 and 2 together.

| If that went through, Cas would need another half. Unless they're planning on playing Dean Widders or Ryan McGoldrick at 6 again.
They could do with another hooker, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Wagga back there at some point, but surely not at the expense of their best player.
Doesn't seem realistic to me.

thats pretty much what I thought when I read it. Whilst their is a certain logic to every player movement involved and I wouldnt be surprised if any of our players mentioned end up at cas cant see them letting chase go at any price. Plus would effectively kill off both monaghan and pryce rumours which both seem to have some substance behind them.

| I rate Chase highly, he certainly seems to cause us no end of bother when we play Castleford at the Jungle. I'd be surprised if Cas were willing to let him go, unless they're really desperate to sign a hooker and 2nd row?
Matterson was quoted as saying he wanted more consistency from Chase in 2011 a few weeks back. We don't need another BJ...

| Didn't Chase have some sort of fall out with Matterson at some point of last season. I'm sure I remember Cas playing a match on Sky where Chase (and others I think) had been left out of the team for disciplinary reasons.
Might be looking to get rid of someone that he highly rates, but considers a bad influence, awkward customer etc?
Just musing.....

McGoldrick is naff at 6. Considering the loss of Shenton & Evans, I would expect McGoldrick to play in his natural position in the centres.

| Just to clarify,
The rumour was out recently about a Rob Burrows swap with Rangi Chase.
After this i asked someone very involved at Cas, If there was any chance of Chase leaving, And he replied, None whatsoever. Cas will not consider any approach for him, He is under contract for 3 more years, And we will be working at extending that, Were building the future of Cas Tigers around him and there is NO AMOUNT of money that could change their mind.
Puts this rumour well and truly to bed.
The only reason Westerman was sold, Is we learnt from losing Shenton on a free, That if a player is going to want away in 12 months, We may as well take a hefty 6 figure sum for him. Joe hadnt had the best year, And was causing problems off the field. That worked out to be a sensible option.
