| He won't want to play anywhere but 6 and if we play Briggs from Game 1 he and Herbert could form a lethal partnership (they are same age well near enough as well). Bring Southernwood into the mix in case of injuries and we will have a beat of a team

So do we really need to be bringing in a highly paid 30 yr old to play 13.'"
Langley, is the obvious stand out choice for LF this year Mat. There's nobody at the club ready to displace him this year and next IMO. Donoldson is nowhere near good enough IMO, and it will still be a couple of seasons before Addy really stamps his mark. Out of the two youngsters though I would say Addy is the more likely to take the position from Langers in the next few years.

Langleys a very good 2nd rower but he isn't a loose and hasn't been for years. More and Menzies both played it more than him last few yes. I reckon addy and Royston will both feature there this year.

| Langley at 2nd row and Addy at loose is what I'd like to see this season. I think Addy gives us more options with the ball in hand but then me and my mates sponsor him so I may be biased!
Been watching the Fev videos, Briggs looks good. On the commentary it has him putting the hit in that causes the knock on that leads to one of tries which I like. Someone said earlier they didn't think he was that big. Doesn't look like that on the video, anyone got any stats for him?

| Briggs is not massive but he is a very effective tackler who can put in some big hits for his size. He reads the game very well so puts himself in good positions to make a hit, thus being very effective.
When Briggs fist came to rovers you could see his potential straight away, he played with a different intensity to other players. He has a "the money ball pass" flat pass as good as just about any in Super League, Look for the clip on Utube vs Leigh at leigh last year and watch the pass he gives to Jessie Joe Parker to score and look at the reaction he gives. It is the reaction of a pro who has worked on something and just executed it to perfection.
He also has great feet and an eye for an opportunity, I believe with the step up he will just get better as he seems the type of player to be able to raise his standards to the level he is at. With full time training and the higher intensity competion I believe he will thrive.
Just give the lad time to get up to speed and he will deliver.
Update
just been on utube and can not find the Leigh clip but the watch the Sheffield V fev clip 25 sec in, watch the cut out pass he gives the winger.
Or for tackling watch Barrow 6 v fev 20 on barrows first set they move it to the right and he flattens their centre.

Agree with the names you suggest. Logically, for me anyway, Donaldson would be first in line, assuming he shows a complete recovery after his op, he was looking quite outstanding before his injury . There really is some quality pushing to get the gig though, the future is truly bright.

| I'd say addy has probably leapfrogged donno in pecking order purely down to amount of experience he got last year. That said think Royston will feature there a bit this yr to give donno and addy time to develop physically.

Can't argue mate, I just hope we're never in the position of having to overuse any of the young players like we were last season. It would be great to see them all developing strongly and then pushing for more regular spots next season.

thats part of reason I think we'll utilise royston at loose. Play him their in the bigger games then let addy and donaldson have a crack in the smaller games. wouldnt be surprised to see one of them go out on loan as imo they arent benefiting from playing u20's anymore and need to be playing at a higher level every week. Maybe a loan deal to a NL club would fit the bill.

Royston should get no where near the loose forward role in superleague.

| Briggs is a quality player but easing him into it will be the best for him as it a big step up to superleague from championship. A signing of a aussie 6 on a 1 year deal to develop him would be a good move

| How come it's suggested that Briggs (who came from the championship) should spend time in the U20s to get up to speed, and yet players on the fringes of our first team should be loaned out to the Championship, rather than play in the U20s, because it's a better level? Make your minds up people!

Fev could turn over Wakefield this season, so it would be a step down
