tbh if board managed to pull off that lot, don't think even the most die hard pessimists on here would find much to moan about.

in reality though think IF hall went to cas we'd end up having to pay part of his wage. He isnt going to voluntarily take a wage cut and his performances last year dont warrant the deal he's currently on. any payout would count towards our cap.maybe the portion of halls wage saved plus worrinceys combined with the amount we already have available under cap would just about allow us to squeeze monaghan and pryce in.

one very hypothetical scenario that crossed my mind was this. canberra dont really want to lose monaghan but have to or risk losing major sponsors. so they do a deal behind scenes with us. they then publicly 'sack' monaghan and he comes to us on a 1yr deal before returning to canberra at end of it once fuss has died down. In return for us doing a deal with monaghan behind the scenes we allow orford to sign for canberra on a much reduced figure to that being floated about, but still sufficient when combined with fees received for wardle and hellewell to allow us to buy our leons contract. Lots of if's, but's and maybe's in there I know but nothings unbelievable anymore after worrincey getting a NRL gig

Do you know what deal Hall is currently on?

As I've already mentioned the person that told me about Worrincy also said that Glenn Hall would follow him out. I've spoken to them again today, and apparently he has been touted about by the club, but no one is interested in him (No surprise considering that he takes a quota spot, and a hefty wage from what I've been told), but a deal with Joel Monaghan is agreed in principle, and the club are in the final stages of sorting a release settlement with Hall.

I'm sure he will find a club in the NRL easy enough.

Monaghan for Hall would be a great swap & defo think that if no other club wants him that we should pay him off so we can get Monaghan in. As a few have said, i'm sure if he goes home that he'll get a club ok.

Just need a stand off now. Wish we'd get some more positive news on that front as appears to be Leon, subject to his neck being ok, or nowt at the moment.
