| An important, and very encouraging message telegraphed by the players tonight, I think?
More heartened than for quite a while.
Chuffed too with the reaction from the Wakey fans so far. Thank God we are discussing rugby not fecking accounts and legals yet again. We can all be reasonable with each other again when we do that.
Oh, and relegation sucks. For everyone.

| Not quite everyone. There's a whole tier of clubs below SL waiting to welcome two "elite" clubs into their fold

| Felt like a massive game and all credit to the lads. The two last gasp tackles which prevented tries summed us up. If either Walker or George hadn't made those the momentum would have swung against us and we would likely have lost. It's that 1% thing.
On individuals, Walker and Donno were outstanding and if Disko plays 20 games this season we'll survive.
Big wraps for Purtell. Collis made him look flat footed in defence but he carried us forward time and again and it was definitely a try for me.
Mullally needs a short tackling bag but otherwise was a real hand full.
Special mention goes to Gale. Lots of pressure but outplayed their halves.

| Chuffed with the effort and commitment
Disko, Donno, Chev & Purts all superb
Only BK was out of sorts, all others played really well.
Gale by far and away our MOM - great to see him step up and lead us, more please Luke
Sammutt? Who is he!! Showed his liabilities and what we won't miss!

| It might have been low on quality but it was desperate stuff from both teams, you could see what was at stake. We managed to keep our composure which was the difference. I thought Gale and Diskin really stood up and led the team tonight. Having a bit more size in the pack made a real difference to the Cas game.
For Wakey they killed themselves with penalties and errors.

| Wasn't expecting Bulls to get the 2 points last night so was pleasantly surprised, although the game as a spectacle was terrible. Wakefield seemed to be devoid of any sort of direction and the pack in particular looked weak. Bradford did the job and got the win, thats all that matters!
Gale/Diskin led from the front and were my picks for MOM. Donno in defence was awesome and other notable performances from Henry, Addy & Purts. All 4 Bulls props punched holes in the Wakey defence all night.
Thought Mullally had a decent game, probably just a bit too keen which led to all the penalties. Would definitely try and get him on board for a longer spell if possible.
The SKY coverage last night was awful. They hammered the Bulls from the opening credits, with only Jon Wells for me giving a fair judgement in his comments. Yes, he fancied a Wakey win, but he gave a justified reason for it pre-match rather than the rest who just rambled on about the mis-management of the Bulls off the pitch leading to players being forced to leave etc etc.

Thankfully there's always one.
Quote Adeybull="bren2k"Mr Hicks put them ten points up, and that was all she wrote; an awful spectacle and not a performance that bore any resemblance to the second half fight back at Salford.
The decision to chop and change to squeeze Sammut in was a poor one; if he had to play tonight, I'd have put him at fb and let Mathers have a sit down.
I don't like to sign up to conspiracy theories, but that's two games in a row where we've got absolutely nowt from the official in the first half; if you were a cynic, you'd almost believe that our card was marked in relegation year.'"

| I love these conspiracy theories. When Purtell's try was awarded I had visions of loads of feverish typing onto RLfans coming from the Wakefield area.

| Personally I could not give a stuff about the quality of the game last night. Given that the two sides are strongly tipped for the drop and it was a "roll your sleeves up and get stuck in" kinda night then what was anyone really expecting?
The twopoints were all that mattered and they were vital. I am pretty sure that Wire would take an ugly win tonight, or Wigan tomorrow for that matter.
It was a crap night, in a crap town, on a crap pitch, in a crap stadium, in front of a crap crowd and yet some people seem to expect State of Origin quality?
Don't be so silly.
Welldone lads. Great effort, comfortable win and a good starting ground with a very winnable game next up. We got the points, and now have a good break before the next game, which may allow us to make those short term deals a bit longer.
Blythe and Ferguson still to come back too.
Looking a bit brighter.
