I used to go week in week out and loved it, now I rarely go, although I think pro rugby league in this country is a lot poorer than it used to be 5+ years back in general anyway.
We should be going out to murder every team, if they aren't going to give us close games (which they are, but full time pro v part timers shouldn't be on such a regular basis!), then we have to create our own intensity and set high expecations in terms of the score, plays, tackles etc..
As for being out of the cup being a good thing, that's ridiculous. We need practice against quality teams, so we needed to be in the cup to play the Super League teams and get that practice! Team battling relegation or maybe in a close intense battle at the top may be better without the distraction but certainly not where we are. We are not a SL team, we don't have a SL coach and we have very few SL quality players, but we have very good players for this league, who should be massively fitter than the part timers and that should count for everything, it certainly used to in SL V Champ Challenge Cup games.
He hardly got us to perform last year as Bullseye says, I'd add in Salford at home though Sam. Wakey may not have exactly been there for the taking, but that was probably THE best chance to take them. Putting 2 10 minute subs on the bench against a SL pack was always going to be the wrong call and we were battered in the middle as our props were out on their feet. He wore people like OB and Pitt out in the preceding games. He may have been a class player and I have never been in the pro ranks, but come on, anyone could see they were mistakes before they actually happened.
Legend as a player and that will never change, useless as a coach.

If he thinks peaking before the 8s is the tacktick then why did we lose those games just before the 8s. Was that peaking?

I have now come to the opinion that even if we scraped our way into SL I still don't want Jimmy to be the coach. I am sick and tired of watching and listening to him - and possibly some players are also. Problem is how do you tell Jimmy in say August that his contract is not to be renewed without some saying it will affect his attitude at the time when he needs to be spot on with decisions. Tough decision for Mr Green in whether to let him go and if so, when he tells Jimmy.

If Lowes is a genius as a coach the rest of the world is mad. Wibble.

A real genius often tends to be recognised as such in retrospect and more rarely so in his/her lifetime. Of course, a 'coaching lifetime' is somewhat shorter, so the accolades/brickbats tend to come sooner but usually the genius is doing something none of the others have worked out, so is likely to be criticised by the orthodoxy. So, of course is the madman..

It's also fair to recognise that a genius can make mistakes and that a fool can sometimes get it right . In itself, getting something right no more makes you a genius than getting something wrong makes you a fool.

Mathews slows the play down when he is in at first receiver, every time we got to the last tackle in the first half he was there taking the ball and passing on to addy who had no time to kick it.

He needs to go ASAP. Abomsitely clueless in attack. No idea whatsoever!!

Lowes said he would never question the desire of the players. Well maybe he should as Halifax had a lot more desire today.

Team deserved all the boos they got today Mr Ferres.

Would have thought if we get turned over by Sheffield the club will be struggling to justify keeping him in charge. Ideally we'll completely turn around with an impressive win, however I bet we'll limp over the line and save Lowes for another few games.

I think his time is up. Performance wise we've been very poor this year and seem to be getting worse. Players look disenchanted. We see to be building the biggest squad in the league to no avail.

Jimmy is doing a cracking job, lay off him! Heard he wants Danny Tickle, give him the money to seal the deal and SL is in the bag.

Actually it's the 2nd loss.

And the reason the knives are out is because Bradford fans demand a better standard of rugby than is currently being served up by the club. But obviously, we can understand your confusion what with you being a fax fan and therefore having much lower standards than us.

I'd have thought you'd come to terms with a drop in standards in all aspects of life in Bradford. Your club has the whiff of rigormortis and I'm luvvinn it. I bought into Marc Greens passion and enthusiasm when he arrived.

I bought into the "Do you want a full time SL quality squad? - Will you pay more for it"

However, by sticking to my side of the deal and paying the extra - I do actually want to see a difference between our "full time SL quality squad" and those
squads costing less and training on a part time basis.

So far I cannot tell any difference in any aspect of our game.

I get the "peak at the end" bit - but the performances to date don't give the fans any value for money - its not entertainment - its torture.

Compound this by Ferres having a go at the fans and failing to replace our Income Manager - its not good is it?!

Nobody is remotely wanting us to peak so early in the season. The trouble with this lot is they look as likely to ever peak as did Lazarus, except we have JL not JC.

The results, which now include not only an inability to successively beat Batley, Dewsbury and now Halifax - which is bad enough - but to look hopeless and inept in the process, have shown conclusively that we are sadly ordinary in a league of well-below SL standard teams.

Although the permanent lack of a scrum-half has hobbled us, and is the biggest condemnation, still the players that we have should look a class above the likes of Fax and Batley, and should convincingly put them away, if there was to be any hope. And it is Lowes' job to produce a team that plays organized, ruthless and effective rugby.

We see players who are far better than they are showing, consistently being disorganised, and repeating the same mistakes.

As for Ferres, sure we'd all like to peak at the right time, but playing decent high and convincing brand of rugby is not only necessary, but also to give any credence to some possibility that we might reach a peak lofty enough to beat SL clubs and win promotion. You can't peak if at the time you need to, you are still 7 miles below the peak. Whatever Green and Ferres may say in public, privately they know what we know, that this team is poor, and that it shouldn't be.

As for Ferres, if I thought that sitting through a season full of garbage was the price to pay for promotion, I might even consider it, but clearly it doesn't work like that, plus for the majority of supporters they don't pay their money as some sort of subscription, Ferres should ask himself, if he had advertised that we would play like we are for much of the regular season because it doesn't matter, then how many season tickets would he have sold?

Finally I don't see a happy Gaskell and I don't see a happy O'Brien. That may just be me, and for all I know, they may be ecstatic in what we're doing and how the team plays, but to me they both look pale shadows of the class players they are. And it worries me.

The trap most "peak-too-soon" theorists fall into is making the obviously wrong assumption that our team is not at its peak (and that couldn't be more true) but that everybody else we play, ARE at their peak and that's why we can't beat them. How illogical is that? Logic would dictate that at the same stage of the season, every team would be at a broadly similar percentage of peak.
