| When its been explained exactly what they're doing and why, complete with list of fixtures (links above) - then how is it complete hearsay?
Their grounds' having a load of work, they'll play away for the fist half of season, and is it I think 11/12 of they last dozen games at home.
Nothing to see. Except I should think some unhappy Wolfpack fans but it would be a price well worth paying for me if someone did just that with Odsal.

| Suppose Toronto fans best clear their Saturday afternoon schedule for 11 weeks beginning in April then!

| It’s a non story really. It’s pretty clear that Toronto are playing away games at away grounds first then all home games.
It’s a bit harsh on any players based here, or indeed there, as they will be away from families for a long time.
It makes you wonder why they can’t find another ground in Toronto anywhere.

Certainly not by any professional governing body.

Although it could be argued that they will not suffer any effects of trans-Atlantic travel, for any of their away fixtures. Unlike the other Championship teams when they go to play in Canada.
It could be that Leigh 'Fax, Fev, London etc. opt to play all their second half of season home games in Canada! ![Wink icon_wink.gif](images/smilies//icon_wink.gif)

| Quite funny how things escalate...
It could be quite handy for Toronto though, having solid home games towards the business end of the season to pick up momentum towards the middle 8s.

Unless they make a mess of their away games and are too far behind, to get into the '8's'! ![Wink icon_wink.gif](images/smilies//icon_wink.gif)

Last year it was the local weather that prevent home games till May
..... Has their climate changed so much that they could play the games if it were not for the ground works? Leigh fans are being told not to book anything yet for a game scheduled 9 weeks after their first planned game in Canada!

I have no idea, but to throw something else out there........they were getting 7,000+ crowds at the back end of the season and had an 8,500 crowd against Doncaster. Their ground holds 9,600 so maybe they are anticipating a very large crowd for the likes of Leigh (who are known to travel well) and are in the process of finding a suitable ground to host it?

Taking a thousand or so fans to the likes of Featherstone is a little different to Toronto. Regardless of how well your team "travels", I don't think they need a new ground to accomodate people going to Canada.

Oh I know that haha, just trying to think of a ridiculous reason why Leigh have been advised not to make travel plans. Baffles me really, once the fixtures are out then that should be it!

| Did anybody notice the bit in that article that said they have no idea why the work is going to take so long? If that's the case, then perhaps they don't actually know what's involved and can't be 100% confident that the stadium will in fact be ready by the intended start of their home fixtures? Perhaps that's why there's rumours of looking at Odsal or elsewhere being mooted?
If we're going to read an article and take it as gospel, at least read it in it's entirety.

I think that's exactly what it is.
In a nutshell, it's "We're working on the stadium. If it's not finished by the time our home games roll around, we're going to have to play somewhere else". Now to me, it would make more sense to find somewhere else near Lamport Stadium, but I'm sure they have their reasons for looking at England for their alternative venue instead.
If the work on Lamport is done by the time the home games are due to start, I'm sure it will be a total non issue.

That's true enough, but it they're so close to their capacity with, basically, little more than home support then, with the intention of growing that home crowd, they clearly do need a bigger ground.

Absolutely. If they're close to capacity for a new club playing a sport that's new to the residents, then if it ever really does take off there, quite clearly they're going to need a hell of a lot more room. I assume that's the idea behind the current works. With those kind of distances though, it's only ever going to be about the home support potential rather than any away fans.
