“At last, a real, Tory budget,” Daily Mail 24/9/22 "It may be that the honourable gentleman doesn't like mixing with his own side … but we on this side have a more convivial, fraternal spirit." Quote: Pumpetypump "I totally understand that some may be looking forward to next year. I take no pleasure in saying that I'm probably done with it. Not just because of our fall from grace but the whole game upsets me with it's parochial ineptitude. 8x8x8? I mean wtf?

I don't watch highlight shows, I don't check for latest scores. I just feel a bit sad really. I hope to god my all encompassing disillusionment fades and I can read this post and call myself a melodramatic git at some point in 2015.'"

Although I'm obviously chuffed to bits with Cas' recent form & I will be at Headingley tomorrow night, I stopped following Cas all over several years ago due to a number of reasons. However I never lost my love for TGG & I look forward to every weekend & get to as many games as possible - whether that is at Leeds, Bradford, Keighley or Huddersfield. As long as there is a good game on offer, a good craic, a few beers, it doesn't still get much better.

I fell out with the sport a few years ago and fell out with my club in 2012/13 .
I fell back in love with the sport again by watch the nrl when i can and by watching Leigh miners and perhaps most importantly, i found time to go watch my mates lad play on a sunday morning at u12s,he's now trialing with Warrington

The post that inspired this thread struck a chord with me – I’ve never seriously thought about packing it in, but I’m seriously disillusioned about the sport at the moment. I’m sure this is heightened because we have been through the mill as a club in the past two years, but I agree this 3X8 business in particular is a load of rot.

I think ultimately I need a short break – like others I’ve really not been following results or watching Super League Show/Boots N All. End up reading most of the results in League Express! Don’t think I’ve watched a match outside of our own for about 6 weeks/two months, probably longer which is some kind of record for me. I think this Sunday, whilst I’m dreading it in a way, will actually be a massive relief and a line in the sand. It’ll mean our next serious competitive game will be 7 months away and I can stop thinking about it so much come back with a refreshed attitude. That’s the idea anyway!

I put the penultimate option for the reasons I've said before.

By the way I've moved over a few posts on this topic from Green thread.

Now I've caught up with the new and inferred posts I've voted for the second option, although I may change my mind once we find out how much season tickets will be. On the face of it I'd probably go to VP, almost certain if we were at Odsal. I still enjoy the rugby to about the same degree as I've ever done and I still watch each televised SL (or CC) game and be certain to watch SL Fulltime.

Quote: GiantDee "The importance of that cannot be overstated. After years of struggle and heartache the opportunity to take steps in the right direction, be they large or small, must be a relief. You may even enjoy some rugby rather than the loyal endurance you have all been through.'"

Its true, our relegation has not been a short sharp shock to the system, its the result of a very long drawn out public death and flogging of something we all hold dear. Its ground people down to the point where attendance is more out of duty than enjoyment. I think it was actually pretty amazing we got over 5000 for the home game vs catalan with all the other distractions that weekend and no away fans and nothing to play for - and I think that attendance actually bodes well for next season when there will hopefully be lots to play for and some winning rugby (hopefully). I've come to the point where I belive relegation and the subsequent clearout and "rebooting" of the club is actually required and will turn out to be a good thing in the long term, despite the short term hurt of relegation.

A fresh start with different challenges, and like FA said, Im looking forward to next season in the championship a lot more then the next month in superleague. (sorry, should that be super dooper league now if im to put my championship chip on my shoulder icon_wink.gif ?). We will be seen to have "taken our punishment" "got what we deserve" etc etc, then we can "cut our cloth accordingly" build for the future "within our means" - but hopefully and seriously, bring some respect and integrety back to the club/brand whilst trying to get back up into superleague with a clean slate. My only worry would be an extended stay in the championship would be a problem in the long term, but I havn't the energy to worry about that, Id much rather spend my time hoping for watching us win more games than we lose next season and pushing for promotion in the end of season middle 8 (which we would probably be in anyway next season even if we survived this year, just trying to avoid relegatioon rather than gain promotion)
