Quote: daveyz999 "FA -Let me sum up the points I was attempting to make, as quoted in your last response.....
- This season I've been unimpressed with Gale
- I understand he missed pre-season, for this reason I expect him to get better
- Much of his decision making since returning from injury has been poor
- Due to him having a bad game against Leeds, I probably would have preferred Addy in the halves.
Not sure why your talking about the kids upbringing as I don't think I questioned his ability. He had a good season last year, the only disappointing thing about last year was the time he spent on the sidelines due to injury.
There have been quite a decent split of people saying his decision making has been poor, yet it seems people can't comment without being shot down.
Also, not sure what relevance quoting Mick Potter has, as this quote seems to have been made after announcing his signing for the Bulls, not even close to any of my points about his current form and decision making.'"
The post was aimed not only at you but other people who have been having a go at Gale, in particular the post that said he was "crap". the post doesn't "shoot down" anybody, nor did it intend to. I am just making the general point that throughout his (still young) career a lot of good judges have very highly rated Gale and that does not mean they are all right, nor that I suggest anyone else isn't entitled to their opinion, on the contrary. It seems like a reasonable POV to me.
What is mildly annoying is when I post a contrary opinion, whether or not backed up with facts, but instead of being read as my opinion, some people see it as "having a go" or "shooting down" or some such. Why can't people just discuss stuff without getting all touchy about it?
I don't think he had a bad game against Leeds. I would say he had a mixed game. he did plenty of good stuff but I'd agree he got caught out at times and did look rusty, then again Leeds' defence was very sharp and quick, and our pack didn't give him consistent room to work with.
