| Yesterday? I struggle to remember what I did [itoday[/i...have I had my tea yet?
But indeed. The second album (before they sadly imploded). "The Bells of Berlin" makes it onto my iPod favourites playlist. You can get the two albums together now on one CD - I was ecstatic when that CD was released a few years ago! I still have both albums on vinyl up in the eaves somewhere, along with about 400 other bits of black plastic...
And guess what - I lied. I know I have "Mott" on vinyl, and on tape someplace ages ago, but I've just found MtH's "Greatest Hits" on a CD, and its on my iPod too.
EDIT: In fact, I've just opened iTunes on my PC and am listening to it as I type. Just played "Roll away the Stone - and hell, I can remember them clearly on TOTP with some backing girls doing pushing motions as they sang "shalalalapushpush..." how sad is that?? Yet I can't remember when its the day to take the bloody bins out or if I have brushed my teeth!

Dont think the recent weather will have put many in the mood for an open air concert Odsal.
The problem with 80s pop is that, with the exception of new romantics, it doesnt seem to have the nostalgia value of eg 60's or punk.
Dont think Charlie Watts would fancy playing at Odsal, too windy. But not many hippies

I guess the many who know the stadium would probably think a bit before committing to a whole day [or more!] in early summer. That said, there is a long standing and very committed group of people who enjoy outdoor festivals, so maybe it's not such a deal breaker?
Agree about 80s music - puts me too much in mind of dumbed down punk 'music' [the decade that music died]. Course, like all decades, it can't be really just be narrowed down to one format and there was lots of good stuff mixed in amongst the dross.
I can empathise with Charlie Watts though, it's bloody hard to play music in the freezing cold and wind. In fact the lads playing guitar in the cold on the last few Sundays deserve a medal as they probably left with fingers rubbed raw in the cold.

| Charlie better not get cold feet now (or hands) as I've shelled out for a ticket for Hyde Park.
