Quote: M@islebugs "I wonder if a key problem here is that the devastating schism within the club has spread beyond its borders.
On the one hand, Guilfoyle is in the same offices as Caisley and has long standing relationship so we are told. Whilst unable to provide the 'smoking gun' a range of senior RL journos are clearly suspicious of this relationship.
On the other we hand we have Nigel Wood of the RFL, who employed and works with Steve MacNamara as England coach and who we must assume, sanctioned the loan to the previous board, prior to buying the lease which is (again we assume) a key issue in the 'conditions' we keep hearing about.
One of the things this whole mess highlights is the poor standard of RL journalism. I like Sadler but even he has really made little effort to get a grip of this story.'"
The trouble with the Bulls story is that everyone with any integrity, including me, has one simple priority - that the club survives in the best possible state and in the long term at Odsal.
I'm not keen to publish anything that jeopardises that objective simply to sell more newspapers in the short term.
I'm sure that if and when a new owner takes over, the RFL will have a lot of issues to investigate in relation to what has happened at the club.
In the meantime don't be too surprised to see the RFL announce shortly its decision on a points deduction, which is likely to be six points.
