Was told that Warrington are sniffing around John offering silly money as a signing on fee to join them. Sincerely hope this is untrue as we need to build a side around our young players much like Leeds have.
The Leeds players stayed loyal to the club even when offers where greater elsewhere. There players have been rewarded with trophies and a good culture to be around.

I agree, he is already contracted, but he seems to want to be here so an upgrade andf extension could be offered well before the end of his current deal. We've just announced Whitehead, so it looks like we could have a group of Bradford developed youngsters signed up for the next few years that could form a core of the team similar to how Leeds have done it. Whitehead, Bateman, Addy, Olbison, Crookes, Kopczak, Burgess.

Looks promising to me.

This Bateman to Warrington rumour sounds like a recycled version of what was going around when he signed for us in the first place when he was offered a massive signing on fee and a motor IIRC (he'd even have been too young to drive it!).

As it was he took less to go to his hometown club and and the club he supports. I suspect if we look after him (and I've no reason to suspect we aren't) he'll follow Whitehead's lead and stay.

I thought that was implied in Whitehead's words in the T&A article.

Hope he stays with the Bulls. Clubs have really changed their views with respect to young British players, and its good to see. In the end its the only way to build a side nowadays. The reduction in quick fix Aussies of any quality is clearly impacting right across the league.
