Until I read Bully Boxer's post, I was starting to wonder where I had left that rope and where was the nearest low beam?
Hardly enthused about this signing, but to be honest it seems to sum up where we are with our inability to secure top-class signings now, given our languishing table position and lack of wealthy owner.
But its clear we are in dire straits in the halves, and that Potter does not believe either Briggs or Southernwood are up to it yet, so at least we have recruited an experienced half to help address that crisis short term. Which Ben will turn up - the anonymous one or the game-winning one - remains to be seen. I pray its more the latter.
Need to remember too that we should be a different team again once we get the injured bodies back. And yes, pray we don't pick up any more injuries. Just how mcuh bad luck over several years can a team have?
Quote Norris="Norris"Wakefield coach John Kear said: "The club understands Ben's desire to move on for both his own and his family's future."'"
That speaks volumes - Ben does not expect Wakey to be in SL next year, and that he'll be out of a job if he stayed there. Doubt he will have been that expensive. On his day, he can work wonders on the park. Let us hope he soon makes all his doubters look silly.
