Should never have been let go in the first place as he was the best half of the MacNamara era by a mile. The times he went missing was behind a well beaten pack playing beside either Deacon (never fit) or Harris (walking pace). Brilliant he isn't but he's better than anything we've got at 6 or 7 and I include Kearney.
He'd come for the same contract and wage if it meant he'd definitely be in a job in 2012. Unlikely the Wakey will be in SL for 2012 in all honesty. Look we can all think of players we'd rather have, but I'm satisfied he'll do a decent job for us. The recruitment for next year needs a dramatic increase in quality though.
Ben Jeffries, we've been here before. Not the greatest by any means but does have some great games. A bit of pace which we're lacking in the halves and a damn site better than Herbert. Hopefully he can strike up a partnership with Briggs but that doesn't look like it's going to happen. Hopefully we can bring in a quality 6 next year with Jeffries playing at which I think is his best position, but I wouldn't bank on that either.
I'd be very surprised if we offered him more than what he was on at wakey, maybe the offer to play for Bradford again was too good to turn down, as i recall he really didn't want to leave us in the first place, can't blame him really! wb BJ! there's a lot worse half backs out there we could have brought in at such short notice!
