Quote: Maccbull_BigBullyBooaza "If the population of the place isn't big enough for a respectable crowd for Sky TV audiences and the club aren't big enough to generate gates from outside that area then I'm afraid we have to get rid of them as they are not fit for Super league. Sorry Cas fans but if you're not contributing it's time to go. You've said it yourseves the population isn't big enough.

As steamy says us Bulls fans all live in Halifax or Huddersfield (dependant on whether you are talking to a Fax or giants fan) so our club are capable of generating fans from outside the area.'"

Contributing where it matters more than you though, yeah?....

Quote: paulwalker71 "Well, I stand corrected

Crowd given as 3,517, which is actually a very decent effort. Up by about 50% from their attendance against us, and with presumably almost no away support

Happy to be proved wrong - well done to the Crusaders'"

1500 tickets given away.

Better to give away 1500 tickets in the hope that some will pay next time rather then do nothing and get no extra fans for the next game.

Wasn't dissing the idea.

Just see what their crowds are when they don't allow 50% of their gate in for nothing.

Whatever the figure turns out to be it should be bigger than it might have been had they not done some marketing. I don't think they have any option but to encourage fans, by what ever means they decide will work best. I think many of the older clubs are doing 'deals' of one kind or another anyway so I guess we need to qualify most club's gates.

Quote: Maccbull_BigBullyBooaza "You'll be unstoppable after the merger then and will have a decent gate to watch it.

That'll make room for an Irish or Lebanese Expansion team which is important if the game is to grow outside of the M62.'"

Lebanese expansion is soo last year. And they are not even in Europe (ESL!). Russian expansion is they way forward. After the world cup the landscape will be littered with unused 40,000 seater stadia. We could either expand into Russia or ship over a few stadia and give them to established clubs!
