| I wonder is it 3 years too late?
He was a good player, but im not sure whether we should be after him or someone else. Could he be another burns?

| I think he'd still be a good signing for us, even at 31.
He's one of the best half-backs in Super League and has been for a few years now. His organisation, control and leadership is exactly what we need and exactly what Fages needs alongside him. He scores and creates tries and has a good kicking game.
I keep hearing people talking about his supposedly horrific injury record but it's not half as bad people think. All being well, this will be the 3rd season on the trot he's played at least 20 SL games.
As long as he isn't our only major signing for 2017 then I'd be happy. He would only be a part of what we need.

He'd improve us a bit. He's not a Sandow level player that would instantly improve our chances of winning a trophy. As mentioned, it's too late for this signing, we should have got him when he moved to Widnes.
He's clearly a decent player, but is he a #promisedland signing? Is he going to bring us trophies? No, I don't think he is. If he's the senior foil for Richardson coming through maybe there is an arguement for it, but I doubt KC has that kind of foresight. KC's 'development' of young players is pathetic at best.
My feelings about KC will cloud any signing we make at the moment. Why are we allowing that clown to be involved in the signings we're making? It's only going to set us back another 2 or 3 years. What we should be doing is hiring an experienced NRL coach and giving them the choice of players, not KC.

Probably having to pay a transfer fee for a 31 year old Wigan reject looks like a sign of desperation from the Grinders, not good enough I'm afraid, just my opinion of course.

The Wigan reject tag is ridiculous. Wigan by their own admission have made a number of mistakes with regards to the retention of some of their younger players in the past.
Sean Long did OK for us considering he was a "Wigan reject" too.

Correct.
Brown was an excellent young prospect at Wigan but he was around the club at the wrong time. If we had a player as talented as Brown now they would be handled correctly and would fulfill their potential much sooner then Brown was able to.
If it comes off he'll be a really solid signing for Saints. He's a leader and an organiser and whilst it'll be a bit short term it'll buy you breathing space.

| I like Brown and he's a decent player but it's got disaster all over it. He won't come cheap, he's 31 years old and worst of all he's very injury prone.
We'd be lucky to get 60% of games a year out of him and how long before his body packs up with all the injuries he's has?
It could be a good stop gap if it comes off but for me it's to much of a risk.

As I said before, people seem to think he's more injury prone than he really is. It's a myth that keeps on growing.
By the end of this season he will have played at least 20 Super League games 3 years on the trot. His actual percentage over the last 3 seasons is 75%.

Seems to miss lots of games and sky was saying that's his big problem and cone up with some percentage of games he misses.
He spent half of last night lay crumbled on the floor or limping about even though he did have good game.
Like I said, I like him and he's a good player but i dont know if I'd pay big money for him at 31. We need to learn from our mistakes and after the Burns signing I'd give Brown a miss.
It's a short term signing imo. Dont get me wrong I'm not bagging Brown one little bit as 3 years ago it would have been a great signing.

| Its 3 years too late for Brown, I thought we showed an interest in him before he joined Huddersfield. Might be OK for a 12 month contract, but for him to leave Widnes he would probably want a 3 year contract that would be another "Burns" scenario.
