| The lad has his critics but for me his been excellent this year. Remind the Lomax try and look at his reaction in the background. I'm a big believer that some back slapping goes along way and his the master of it. Celebrates a try like a grand final win and that is something I love in a player (passion) he has his faults at times but one of the first names on the team sheet for me

| Yup, I have him second only to the magnificent Matty Dawson in the running for our player of the year. I have always liked Louie, he wears his heart on his sleave and always gives his all. He's big, quick, enthusiastic and although there are negatives to his game at times, he thoroughly deserves a new deal.

He's been our best player this year but it's new contract year. His last good season was also new contract year.
He's average and nothing more. I'd only keep him if he's on low salary as he doesn't justify a big contract.

I'd agree - enthusiasm only gets you so far.
Why doesn't he go further out wide and link with the centre?
Why does he not try the left side occasionally ?
He is determined to run into trouble it seems.
100% for effort
50% for the impact.

But we've got players in the side every week who can't even be bothered getting fit enough to play professional league. He's massive for us this season and is working his socks off. He doesn't run further wide because he's been a prop all his life. You can't just switch that off. He made good yardage against Leeds doing that as well, I don't see what the problem is with that particularly. Provided he's not on an international player's salary, he needs to stay. Jon Wilkin is the one that should be getting criticised, his performances are a joke recently.

I think you are correct on all counts. LMS has been pretty decent for 3 seasons now, its his petty penalties last couple of seasons that is distorting his actual performances.

Don't get me wrong; I like LMS but his stats for the game were poor. Just 15 tackles and 15 carries. He was top on missed tackles though with 6.
Remarkably he gave away no penalties.

The much maligned Wilkin made 43 tackles and made more metres than LMS.
Just saying.

| But Lms did get pushed out to cover centre and then the ball hardly went that way.
I'm a bit 50/50.
Love the effort but never sure about the application.
Compare 13's
Ben Westwood
Jason batieri
Hep cahil
Mark Flanagan
Jordan Abdul
Larne Patrick
Nathan massey
Sean head chopper loughlin
Mikey sio
Chris Clarkson
Stevie ward
I think the issue is we assume there is better out there as we still see LMS as a prop. But the 13 role is pretty weak apart from head hunter oloughlin, Westwood, batieri I'm not sure there is a good 13 that stands out.
Unlikely to obtain either of those 3.

I've generally taken the approach of "if you have nothing nice to say ..." On this thread, but even though LMS has the 13 shirt, he has spent much more time in the second row over the last few years. His comparisons should be with the likes of Liam Farrell, John Bateman, Jack Hughes, Ben Currie, Glenn Stewart, Justin Horo, Frank Pritchard, Gareth Ellis etc etc.
I'd much prefer Savelio to inherit the 13 shirt, he's been hit and miss sure, but a large part of me believes that's because he doesn't want to be playing prop, and bringing him into the role he played throughout juniors will see him start to fulfil the dreaded "p word".

| I think we have to be careful here that we don't turn our pack into plodders and grafters, LMS and Wilkin are ball playing forwards and are the two players who have a significant impact on our tackle busts, clean breaks and offloads. Our developing players in Greenwood, Sav and Thompson don't have that skill set so we would have to find suitable replacements elsewhere.
LMS and Wilkin do work out wide and the likes of Fages are taking advantage of that on the second phase.
At the moment we have our returnees which is giving us the chance of a more expansive game. We could offload these two players but if they are not replaced then this team would be less pivotal and more restrictive

| I like him and think he adds to the team, he's not a world beater, but as long as he isn't paid as one I'm not bothered.
