Three lads I know of named in the squad. Josh Eaves (hooker/loose), Matty Lees (prop) and Rob Fairclough (scrum half). Taken those positions from match reports, not seen them play at Saints this year, but they look about right. Congratulations to the lads.

No Danny Richardson or is he a year older ? I like Mat Lees we signed him from Bradford this year.

I've not seen the full squad so he could be in. He's the year above these 3 but I think he still qualifies for u18s. I think Rogues might be able to get the full squad list so you'd be better asking him for it.

I'm assuming that this is the under 18s for next season?

All three of these have shown excellent promise this season considering they are all first year. The same can be said for Matty Costello who impresses everything he plays.

Danny Richardson is indeed a year older than these three. How he wasn't in this seasons 18s is a joke, quite frankly.

I haven't seen the full squad yet. I know that Ganson, Heckford and Paisley from Wigan are in it and I'd be very surprised if Jack Wells doesn't get in. He's been the outstanding 1st year in the Wigan U19's side this year.

This Richardson kid is meant to be very good, is he not?

He's had the luxury of playing behind a dominant pack in most games, but yes, he definitely one to watch and has all the tools to succeed.

In the game against Wigan away, when saints didn't get things all their own way, he took the game by the scruff of the neck and was arguably the best player on the field.

He was probably Saints best player but I thought Shorrocks, his opposite number, got the better of him on the day.

I spoke to Kyle Shelford who captained England U18's this year. He didn't know the exact squad but said there were 7 or 8 from Wigan including a couple from this years U16's. He thought the full squad would be published next week.
