| Now, it's the first time I've gone on redvee for a while and have noticed this thread on their site. Here is the OPJust a run of thoughts on current standards of behaviour and respect from supporters, after recent posts on here and a discussion in The George last night from some older but not yet ancient fans.
These are thought's from the discussion in general without being solely mine, something for you all to look and sort of join in with post debate.
Just wondering if anyone on here has any comments about this?
I think it's a fairly needless post but it has had a lot of 'positive' (not in the positive sense, but in terms of agreement) feedback. Is it just me that has not noticed this change? Why the sudden clamour to post such a thing?
I can fully understand the beer throwing, but has it got to the stage where the club need to get involved? Seems like they have. Did anyone notice more police at the game on Monday? Once it was pointed out to me, it did seem a little odd...

Yes. I wondered what had happened as I've hardly seen any this season so far.

| I haven't seen any disorderly behaviour this season.
I assume the people who are close to these idiots know who they are, a simple call to the club from a few of them naming them would ensure a letter is sent to their home address.

Was there any trouble at Cas and Wakefield on Good Friday? That could have been the reason behind it.

Yes something was thrown at Mathers after he had scored. There was also something thrown by Wires fans at Wides.

| unfortunately all clubs have a few cretins knocking about,a friend of mine who is a huddersfield fan said the behaviour of a large number of wigan fans earlier in the season was the worst he had seen in 40 years of watching rugby league.
all clubs need to punish people involved severely.

| The throwing problem has never been sorted out by the clubs. In past years I remember Meli getting objects thrown at him and Wilkin had a large drinks bottle thrown at him this year at Widnes. Only solution is no drinks allowed in seating or terraced areas.

That's probably why then.

| Not sure if you're on about the Wig*n or Cas game but I was one of the last hundred or so fans out at DW and there was a saints dad in the stand drawing the attention of the stewards to a small group (four or five) of late teens/early twenties saints fans who, claimed the dad, had just thrown beer over his kids.
In the twenty or thirty seconds before this, the dad was effing and geoffing at the lads about throwing beer and they, in return, were giving him somewhat more vile replies as they walked down the steps.
The swearing and finger wagging continued out in the concourse even as a couple of stewards tried to sort it. A bit of chest billowing ensued and after a couple of barges and more swearing/threats, one steward (who was very good throughout) forcibly removed the ring leader of the younger group down the steps and out of the ground, his mates following. By the time I got down the stairs and near the exit by the turnstiles, stewards ran passed saying there's a fight outside (although it may not have been the same group........)
This 'faux celebration or exasperation' of throwing beer is just another modern phenomenon of everything in our lives being dramatic. No-one is simply allowed to be happy or upset, you've got to be on the highest high or absolutely gutted. Beer throwing is a bit of a badge. You can go and tell your mates it was an 'effing top game'.....it must have been, beer got thrown.
Anyway, my point is that I usually let the crowd disperse at big games before trying to leave so this was probabaly ten minutes after the final whistle. Why are they still throwing stuff?
And although its difficult, the answer lies with us. Majority will always rule so we can't just sit there or go and sit in the top corner out of the way.....and before you ask, no, I didn't say anything as I only caught the shouting and swearing part and couldn't honestly say if they had thrown 'owt.

| My mrs tells me that 50 years ago when she went to the Cinema Saturday matinees in St Helens the kids up in the circle would throw Kiora and half eaten ice lollies down on the heads of the kids downstairs. You could come out soaked.
Maybe it's just one of those odd and ancient Sin Tellins traditions.
