Has he left Saints?

I noticed there was someone with that name playing for Salford in their U20's today.

Not at Saints any more, don't know where he's gone though.

Noticed a few weeks back, that there was a Dan Brotherton playing in the reserves for Wakefield.

Yes went to Wakey but is now at Salford.

Dan played several games for Wakey 20's on a months contract but nobody contacted him after so he went to Salford. His first game was at Wakefield and there was a few surprised faces when he showed up with the Reds.

Well, there goes another one of the "we must sign 20 speedy wingers now" brigade's great white hopes...

Not necessarily. Many a young player leaves the club they were at initially and goes on to become good at another club. He may still make it in Super League, only time will tell.

Another angle on it is that maybe our coaching isn't good enough? We've not produced a decent winger since Alan Hunte.

Good question, although I have pretty high hopes for Tom Makinson in time.

Possibly. He's not threatening to rise above 'solid' as yet though. Despite his apparent pace, he doesn't seem to be a threat to the opposition.

I think some have read this and not got the gist. I'm pretty sure Northampton was trying to be sarcastic about some peoples desperate pleas for yet another speedy winger. I don't think he was endorsing it....
