| Decided to watch him closely tonight as I wanted to see if the numerous criticisms of him hold water. Sad to say I'm in agreement with many of them. Whether he's carrying an injury, or there's a lack of confidence or he's struggling to maintain fitness it's not unreasonable to suggest he's barely capable of rivalling the infamous feats of former Saints' fiascos in the forwards such as Ricky Cowan, Mark Bourneville and Barry Ward.

at least Ward could kick goals!!TBF if Wellens had taken the off load (which he should) I think we would have won

| He tried very hard tonight, which alone is an improvement for him. His offload for Wellens had T-R-Y written all over it and perhaps had we won, we might have been praising Perry.
He's just very soft physically. He loses the collision consistently and his technique for tackling tonight was to be marched 8 or 9 metres back then drag the player to the floor by hanging from his collar.

| I also watched him very closely after listening to folks saying he was a waste of space, and TBH I think he could be the man we are waiting for, a leader who breaks a tackle with a perfect off load to Roby/Wilkin/Lomax.
I thought he had a super game against Hull, lets hope it continues.
Good on ya chap your performance was worth my gate money alone.
Regards

I agree, I thought that whilst it was a short stint he played very well, it was encouraging to see. Perry and Puletua can hold there heads high tonight in my opinion. I'm amazed at this thread to be honest, he's one of the last players people should be having a go at after that performance.

| Last night was perrys best game in saints shirt. He actually looked interested last night but it's still not good enough.
TP was by far our best player last night followed by sia. The rest if the forwards are just not pulling their weight.
Wilkin is back to his rubbish self now he's won a four year deal. LMS just won't put the hard work in. Clough is invisable. Laffranchci does put the effort on but he's not good enough with the other props.
I've said it since sean long went, we need a experinced halfback, we can't rely on young lads in two key positions.

Got to agree with St Pete again, thought Perry had a decent game, he won,t do massive metres but this the nearest to Graham in the name term of Prop.
We talk of not replaciing Graham when it's worse than that, we've not replaced Brynn Hargreaves and Jake Emmit yet. Thought Laffranchci would be much a bigger mass when we signed him, I would throw Jordan Hand on the bench to see how he goes in short spells.
Can,t understand why Royce kept Wheeler on the bench knowing that the half backs weren't working for best part of an hour, It's obvious from everybody except for Royce that Lomax should be full back.
For Perry if he stays fit he will go OK for us.

| Looked more interested than most of the pack. Constantly ran hard, didn't stop tackling.....more please Mr Perry.
Thought TP was outstanding, maybe he's back to his devastating best.

I didn't go hudds last week but the last two games I've seen against Catalan and hull, I thought TP was outstanding.

| over the years we have always had that unsung hero at prop Apollo, O'neill, edmondson, bryn we dont have that someone who will just get the ball with rolled up sleaves and will just take it up no fuss, i have no idea why we let jake emmitt go i always throught he was a cracking young prop and HUGE.
some of the things said about LaFrank are a little harsh, why on earth we got a big back rower (hes not a prop) to replace the BEST prop in the world.
to keep the tread going i think perry is getting better i believe the storys coming from the club about his fittness and leg the problem is that there is nowhere to hide or anyone to cover his missing yards and tackles

| I thought Perry was pretty decent last night. To be fair he can't be blamed for that offload, the ball was for Wellens to take, also the break after that should have been shut down in the Hull 20m.
I've not been impressed with Perry so far, but last night he did the yards, took the ball in and most of all looked interested.
I actually thought our pack was decent last night. They did everything a pack is supposed to do, they shut down the Hull attack, they got us up the field and gave us position and possession. I'm not going to blame the pack for every loss we have, they did their job, but the half backs did not use the territory and possesion to create.
I'm a fan of Lomax and Gaskell, but for me they had 2 stinkers last night. Wheeler came on with 20 minutes, but during those 20 mins Hull gained the acendancy so he never really got much oppertunity with ball in hand, bar one run.
Was 3 or 4 times last night that Lomax just passed the ball to a Hull player when attacking????

| If last night was Perry at a "decent" level heaven help us. I'll give him props for the offload - but his workrate and lateral defence seemed pretty abysmal.

| Perry was poor yesterday!
Has this guy ever heard of an advantage line?
Waste of cap space, quota spot and ultimately a wasted shirt!
