| The last couple of years there has been significant speculation about Nathan Brown. Will he or wont he go. Brown, the players and the club all swore it would not unsettle the team. They were all wrong. If anything it seemed to impact on our defence most.
With the whole season ahead there is already speculation about Simmons future. Players who like him get anxious that he is going while those who do not like him are anxious that he might get an extension. A clear steer one way or another certainly helps - just don't do it til after you play the Giants next week!

| Good point. He has been hinting that he's facing the chop and the players obviously know about his contract situation.
He's not the right man for the job and was such a poor appointment. But much like our recruitment there doesn't seem to be much care being applied to the playing side of things. Once the stadium is finished with the cladding up and done, maybe we can then refocus on the on field matters and actually try to build again after pretty much a decade spent in a daze.

| One thing i always wonder about Simmons, is it really him on twitter?!?! It can't be!
I think he's doing a good job at Saints. Blooding the youngsters. Whether or not he'll lead you to the league title is another matter. Im not sure he will

| He took a fresh looking saints team to the GF last year.....and this season is 4 weeks old?
I think bigger names would have done a worse job over the last 12 months. There has been very little stability from the team sheet to where the home games are played.
I would give him this season at least, to see what he can do, now he has his half back/stand offs in place and a settled home stadium.

| If the club want stablity then either hand out more than 2 year deals OR make a commitment before the season starts to extend the contract for another year.
My other concern with the coaching situation since Millward and certainly since DA left is that the management of the club see Saints as a steering job for a safe pair of hands.
We must play the saints way , we have an academy to bring through and effectively you coach who we deem fit to sign for you.
That may work when we have the best squad but IF we want to win the pots on a more level playing field then you have to find and let the coach bring something extra - even if it upsets the applecart occasionally.
