| Dixon reminds me of Gilmour.
Young players at saints are looking very good this year. Some very good natural talent.
Be great if Wheeler stays fit.
One of the only young players im not 100% convinced with is Foster but he certainly has the potential to be a very good player.

He is nothing like Gilmour. He is more like Joynty in his prime with his size and pace.
He is showing why you need to be patient with youngsters. Last year many were saying he was rubbish and should be off loaded. Now he is looking like a player set for international honours.

My thoughts as well, his positional play is similar to Gilmour. He,s got speed and strength this year, expecting him to turn into a really class player as the season unfolds. Royce has him on the fringes near the centres, similarly with Soliola as well.

| Dixon was very very unlucky not to get Man of the Match tonight.

| I think he is similar to Gilly as well. He runs in a similar fashion and runs some very nice lines. Breaking the lines as a back rower or centre isn't about pace or strength, it's more about angles and he has that natural ability to angle his runs.

Easy tiger!
He's had a brilliant start to the season and confounded my expectations of him, but internatinal? a bit early for that

I said he is looking like one, not that he will become one.
His form in the friendly and the first two games has been terrific, and he is still only 21 years old, which is a baby as far as forwards go.
He should only get better as he physically matures.

| Dixon was exceptional today. Took both tries well and made a very impressive try saving tackle, whilst Flannery was pretty shocking.
Tommy Makinson also made 2 fine tackles on Jodie Broughton when he tried to take him on the outside.
Wheeler really stepped up today, particularly in the first half and made some really good runs.

| Dixon was great and sorry but there is no way flannery should start ahead of him. I'm all for rotation, but with sia, wilkin, flannagan and dixon. Flannery is a bench player at the moment. Some of his possesion tonight was awful. He may get better but on form the other 4 are ahead.
Wheeler, really showed his class, I know there are worries about his injuries, but this is 3 games in a row, must be a record for him, we need to pin him down to a new contract soon before others start sniffing around. Why? because if he is pinned down it means we are covered at centre and can resign Sia as we will not need his quota spot for the centre position. Also Wheeler just looks class.
My concern is Meli, he is starting to look exposed at centre now in defense just like he was on the wing. Ade ran hard and covered as much as he could be meli was getting pulled out the line. He maybe awesome when running with ball in hand but in defense????? Can he really hold Wheeler off his spot when shenton comes back?

| I was thinking the same thing about Meli
Maybe he should do a stint in the front row
He can be great in attack, but Shenton and Wheeler (if he stays fit) have go to be favourites for centre.
Also like to see Ade get a few games in a row, hes playing for a spot and he really does come up with some good runs, often winning penalties and getting quick play of the balls.

A lot has been made of dixon's running game and tries last night, but his biggest contribution in the context of the game was his try saver, just before half time when we would have gone in 16-4 down. The outcome of the game may well have been very different had he not done that. It's often the little things like that that make a real top player, not the flashy breaks. Just ask bonnie Anderson.
Would also say that last nights game proved that saints were absolutely correct to keep Dixon and let ashurst go, who was pretty anonymous.

last nights game showed why foster is important. Makinson missed a couple of sitters and his kicking technique looked poor. Had it been a close game those misses could have cost us the game. I certainly wouldn't like to rely on him with a kick to win match. Am sure people will say that he lnoxls them over for fun in the reserves, but kicking on big games is a different matter. Don't underestimate fosters value to the team purely as a goal kicker.

| I like Foster - he's possibly the best kicker in Superleague and I don't think is a slouch on the pitch.
But Makinson offers something extra in play and that he isn't as good a kicker doesn't outweigh his overall advantage
