The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you. Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.:Dwarfs, Gnomes, Halflings/GNOME2.JPG

Who in your own opinion:-

1. Have been our top 4 most influential/performing players this season.

2. Have been our bot 3 most disappointing players this season.

3. Our best top 2 young and up coming players for the next season.

Try and negate the injury situation in your assessment.

3. Makinson and lomax.

On subject of number three, I think tommy makinson is going to be a very good winger and at the moment is the best winger at the club.

Roby has been so good this season that I can't remember a single person saying that we miss Cunningham.
Graham hasn't had quite the impact of previous seasons, mainly because for long periods he has been our only prop. I would say for that reason, this has been his best season in the red vee. He will leave a massive hole to fill.
Wilkin has had a top season, covering for our lack of half backs. I just wish he would be given the 13 jersey and play as a true ball handling loose forward every week.

Lots of youngsters have done well this year, but Lomax has been outstanding filling the 7 jersey, especially when thinking of the crisis we thought we had early in the season. Whatever position he fills I think he will be a saints legend, and hope we sign him to a long contract.
Foster has done well this year, maybe not the fastest or strongest, but a solid reliable performer and great kicker.

I have been disappointed with Shenton, thought we were getting a real strike centre, his impact has been minimal.
Perry must go in the hat as a major disappointment. Hopefully with a good off season he will prove his worth next season, but he certainly hasn't earned his probably considerable wedge in 2011.

For me.

Roby, TP, Soliola, Graham in that order (Wilkin just missing out)

Perry, Wellens, Shenton (not used the right way)

Makinson, Foster. (like the attitude of these two, should be playing with more confidence next year)

I feel foster has got worse as the season has gone on. He's started making mistakes he wasnt making earlier in the year.

The Aussie Legend!!!:9648.jpg

1. Have been our top 4 most influential/performing players this season.

Jammer and Roby are the expected and obvious two. The unexpected players would include Lomax who started as utility, Gaskell who started as second team and added what a have heard is called a "kicking game" , LMS added such great running power to what was a weak front row the season before and Meli has had his best year in a Saints shirt at centre.

1. Roby
2. Lomax
3. Gaskell
4. Meli

2. Have been our 3 most disappointing players this season.

Hard not to say injured players like Pryce, Wheeler, Perry are disappointing but that is not the question. I thought Wellens and Flannery were cr@p last season, so they did not surprise me with their lack of quality this year. It would have also been nice to see what Forster could have done if he had been fit enough as well as (yet again) Frodsham

1. Eastmond: The year that should have been his was ruined by some grade A money grabbing. He then proceeded to play half d which was reminiscent of Gary Connolly in his last season in the red V. On the other side of the coin maybe Kyle is just not physically up to Super League and a move to a less strenuous sport is a sensible and understandable decision.

2. Shenton: used poorly but showed he will get better, this has to be an improvement next year. There was enough to feel that he is still a great signing. More the coaches fault than the player I would say.

3=. Ashurst and Dixon: did not take a step up to give our squad genuine depth. They have both showed in the last few weeks that this could happen next year.

3. Our best top 2 young and up coming players for the next season.

Lomax and Gaskell have been amazing. Gaskell has to me been a bigger improvement that Lomax as Jonny has shown his class in previous years. Gaskell possessed a kicking game that has been missed for some time. His short passing near the line is nothing short of majestic.

sad to say I must be on my way So buy me beer and whiskey 'cause I'm going far away:5002.jpg

1. Roby, Graham, Puletua, Meli - TBH only Wilkin or Soliola are the others who have stood up and be counted outside the other 2 categories

2. For dissapointment - read what I was expecting of them to show in this year
Eastmond
Pryce - he has been anonymous since his return, the last game showed that he doesnt look to have the heart to play for us anymore
Perry - International prop, the rest must have been all on holiday when he got that jersey

3. Lomax, Foster (not the fastest but getting 6 points for a try almost all of the time rather than 4 is a massive boost that cannot be underestimated.)

Disregarding injuries:

1. Roby, Puletua, Meli, Soliola.

2. Eastmond, Wellens, Shenton.

3. Lomax, Makinson.

Makinson will be a star if he carries on to develop at the startling rate he already has.
