| Great display from Lomax tonight, would suggest at least the equal of any performance that Eastmond has ever produced for Saints. Great to see all the biscuit kids complete the game, if they can keep fit, the future is looking bright. Regardless of the outcome of the Eastmond investigations, I would hope that we never see him in the red vee again.

| Both Lomax and Gaskell played very well, I thought Lomax was man of the match. Gaskell has shown far more promise as a 7 than Eastmond ever did, and I'd go as far to say that Lomax has shown more as a half-back tonight as well.
Eastmond is a fantastic athlete, but he has never been and never will be a half back. Put these two in until Pryce gets back for me.

| I was disappointed when the Sky guys chose Foster for MoM. He was very good, yes, but I thought Lomax was superb. He shone out there. Mind you, so did the rest of the team. Best team performance this season by a country mile. Shows what we can do when we have the right attitude across the board.

Said exactly the same.
At a sportsmans dinner last year, I asked Potter what his thoughts were on Eastmond potentially defecting to RU. He said Saints are producing youngsters with the potential to be better players than Eastmond, and said Lomax is one who could easily eclipse him.
At the time, I thought he must have been on something.
Now, I think it's more like he was on [ito[/i something.

Not disappointed at sky's choice at all. Let Sky hype up the winger. Don't get me wrong Foster is good, and if he attracts the attention all the better. We need stability at half back and if we all started raving about Lomax, who knows Union may come looking again, Agents love hype.
Lomax was the best, but lets not add more pressure after 1 game.
I thought Lomax ran some good lines and got himself through, Gaskell controlled the kicking really well. Finding ground almost everytime.
I think that shows the difference between having 2 half backs, and 1 inexperienced half back trying to cover all options whilst the other is on a sabatical.

| I thought lomax was awesome tonight and I thought the change of position to scrumhalf was just what he needed. He was more in the thick of it and showed just how good he can be.
In another post I posted how I thought lomax hadn't progressed much this year but it might have been the fact he hadn't been involved in the game enough at left centre.
I think we should give him a good run at 7 now and see how he goes at 7.
I thought Gaskell had his best game for saints tonight and deserves big wraps. He even put some good kicks in today.

| Lets just keep the faith for a few games. They will have off games and good games, lets not hit the panic button when the mistakes do happen and start dragging out all the old aussie names we can think of.
When Wilkin returns lets leave him at loose rather than stick lomax back in the centres. I'm sure Gaskell will have no issue playing only the occasional match when Pryce returns and same goes for lomax.
Gaskell seams to be the kicker and Lomax the runner so it maybe that Gaskell keeps his spot when Pryce returns, even though lomax caught the lime light tonight.

Or Pryce at 13, Lomax and Gaskell in the halfs with Wheeler as back up when he's fit. Loads of atttacking options, plus development of the squad for when Pryce leaves at the end of the season.

I could live with that and have suggested it before but wiser men than me have said that Pryce would not work well in the defensive line as a loose forward with much more work to do.
I think everyone knows when fit PRyce can run devistating lines, so will not be surprised to see the kids take a back seat for one season.
I do think we need to keep Wilkin at loose. The kids may step up and get through alot of the season, but we need cover if one of them should fail to make the grade next year.

| LOMAX ROCKED the place tonight....That lad looks dangerous everytime he gets the ball when playing in this position....He looks solid in every position he plays in but he shown pure class and fast footwork tonight, spun in every tackle and broke the line well.
If we bench him again this season we will make a big mistake............Keep him on the field and in this position!!!
Good all round team performance and has shown all of the fans that the team can come together and perform well!!!!
Lets ensure all the fans who were stating they were not coming back after last week take note and get behind these guys as they put their bodies on the line tonight for the win!
Well done!
