Saints appear to be collecting 'knocks' again:

Pryce - groin knock and out for up to two months
Soliola - ankle knock and out for up to four weeks
Wilkin - calf knock acquired while away on his England bash
LMS - shoulder knock and probably not playing on Friday night
Wheeler - body knock and who knows when he will be back
Has Magennis got over his wrist knock yet?

Josh Perry may make his debut on Friday night apparently but only in 'short bursts'. Besides, he will probably get a knock.

I couldn't remember which bit of his body got the knock!

I have to say that if his injuries continue I would be looking to release him at the end of the season. We are on a thin squad as it is without carrying people with constant injuries.

I do like how our jokes about Wheeler are also carried out by his team mates!

Does that mean they're knock knock (knock knock knock) jokes?

This is a bit of a growing myth. we have a strong squad of 29 players, even with several injuries. The majority of players in the squad have played more than 10 first team games, in fact only 5 players haven't started a 1st team game and one of them is Josh Perry who has years of first team experience in the NRL.

As much of a biscuit as wheeler has been Saints need to look at why he is constantly getting injuries and whether these are the same injuries recurring. When Sean Long first came to the club he suffered a great number of injuries early in his Saints career but he was able to overcome them and grow into a club legend, I'm not saying Wheeler will become another Sean Long but he needs to be given a chance or we will yet again have wasted years of investment on a player with high potential like Eastmond.

I don't know if wheels has just been desperately unlucky, or his body just physically isn't up to it, like you say you'd hope the club are doing all they can to get to the root cause of all these injuries

Some recurring injuries can start from the most bizarre circumstances, I recall being told about someone with constant back pain and the cause was thought to stem from an ingrowing toenail he'd had when he was younger - The soreness of the toe had made him favour one leg slightly and even after it was fixed he continued to favour the other leg slightly purely out of habit, over time it lead to his spine becoming misaligned hence the back pain.

Thankfully in sport these days they send the players for scans at the slightest twinge so serious things are usually picked up early. My dad played both codes at county level when he was younger but was forced to stop playing at 23 because of bad knees, he would be told years later that it was a simple cartilage problem that these days would be fixed without an overnight hospital stay!

Hope to see Carl Forster get a game on Friday now then. Heard Wilkins is quite a bad injury.
