| Great result with a lot of positives in the first match of the season. Today’s game the players looked alot fitter, faster and sharper. Forwards looked like a pack who can get you out of the are own half with 5 big drives or look skilful with the ball in the other side half. They also look they can bully side in defence few big hits was going in. Backs looked a lot better than last year to, shenton had some great touchs and looked like he can link up with gardys well. Sol looked better in centre the seconds he would be more dangerous running down the flanks. Leon looked comfortable today playing with young half backs, wheeler linked well with him and should start there if kyle is not available. Also Meli should be binned off and foster should start on the wing.
I hope we can play that attacking rugby like the old saints a few seasons ago, we played some fantastic plays with more risk taken witched payed off with a high confidence level round the field. I now its early to say in one game but if we carry on it the way we played in attack we will be a massive force.

| McCarthy-Scarsbrook was great for you today. You've got a good 'un there.

He tore us apart down the middle, and i thought Pryce was dangerous at halfback.

I was well impressed by him.

I agree. Pryce was very much in command I thought. He bobbed in and out of play and supported his rookie halfbacks well. He kicked some good bombs too!

| When are we going to get a proper goalkicker? Foster was as poor as ever today for someone who is supposidly a good kicker.

| Heart in mouth when Jammer stayed down. Thought Leon did after lengthy absense and his early knock. Few too many penalties but all in all good first hit out. COYS

No! I really missed KR as it was bloody perishing in the East Stand. You can't huddle when sitting down! I missed my hole in the roof too, even though it didn't rain. No doubt we will all get used to the place but it's all concrete. I hope our new stadium isn't all concrete. And paying £1.50 for a plastic cup of coffee which was too hot to carry really isn't on. I'm definitely taking a flask with me next weekend!
I think we should have gotten the West Stand as the away fans will be able to see the screen better than us - us East Standers will be craning our necks to see it. AND I'm sure it won't be as cold!
But the Widnes folk were all very friendly. One of them even reminded me to make sure Saints pay their rent on time!

Should be great atmosphere when we play Wigan and Warrington as it's sure to be a full house.
It will soon start feeling like home

| Sitting in the North stand it was for me a taster of what Saints new ground will offer.
Decent seat with good leg room and unobstructed view of the pitch.
The refreshment facilities were also superior to those at Saints.
My only worries re Widnes were re the parking situation. The sidestreets were a mess for getting a parking spec as all the car parks were full.
The floodlights also didnt seem bright enough. Hope they upgrade them in time for the new season. Otherwise Sky will be complaining about the poor visibility. This is especially noticable in the corners which appeared quite gloomy.
The big screen is in the wrong place, and most Saints fans wont be able to see it. Only away fans and the posh lot in the South stand will be able to see the big screen

I thought that too. Home from home in that respect!

Yup. It should be in the corner on the other side of the North Stand. Hardly anyone in the East Stand will be able to see it and most people towards the East Stand end of the North Stand won't be able to either.

A few pics. I might be being a bit stupid here, but who is that putting the ball down in the next to last picture?
EDIT - just worked out it's Armstrong.
