I used to love watching newlove, he was worth the gate money alone. Power, pace, step and pure class!

The thing with newlove, most teams and players knew what he was going to do when he got the ball yet they still couldn't stop the big man.

He had just signed for Bradford when I first started watching rugby, was my favourite player until we sold him to you, scored some brilliant tries for us in the 93/94 season.

That was a tradegy that he never played for GB considering the dross that played at 6 in his era.

He was no Daryl Powell, that's for sure.

What's even more unbelievable is that Hanley wanted to swap him for Graham Holroyd! The season he played for hanley, he got SL players' player of the year.
