| I can't help but feel watching that rubbish tonight that Saints have thrown away the clubs last two years of potential glory by employing a coach who lacks any ability to motivate the players. Whilst the work he has done with bringing the kids through is admirable its only going to lead to a decade of mediocrity as the kids aren't good enough. So what has been the point of Potter's reign when a coach with the respect of the players would have stood a great chance of another 2 trophy filled years. Tonight is a landmark for Saints, drawing a line in the sand after a long period of competing.
As for the match itself I feel sorry for Jammer, Moore who was outstanding, roby and Wello. Had they all not spent the first half going through the motions those mentioned wouldn't have had to run their blood to water for nothing. Congrats to Catalans who played well and scored one absolutely stunning try.

| The sooner Potter goes the better.I have now reached the stage when I can't be bothered travelling the 25 miles down the East Lancs for home games ,choosing instead to watch my son play junior cricket on Fridays.I stopped enjoying games last season.I only hope the new coach can bring back some of the old Saints flair.

First half was the slowest, lowest intensity I have ever seen in a game. It was worse than your average friendly when the players are still unfit after the off season. I almost fell asleep with 30 gonee until Catalans
Scored their wonder try. I remember the days when we were capabale of such scintilating play.
And the comeback. It just never got started. Fair play to young Gaskell who was very good on debut scoring an excellent try but the whole thing was ugly from a Saints perspective.

| Potter really should know the Catalan game inside out.
We had enough quality out there to beat them today, another poor defeat.
The number of games we have lost this year is very concerning.

| Hi Folks, new member here
Mick Potter imo has had the best group of young players to come through together at one time, there's an entire team of exciting young players to choose from but he's completely mismanaged them.
Tonight was the final straw for me, picking Dean is bad enough but picking Gardner on the bench (waste of a slot picking a winger) and an obviously unfit Wilkin (not criticising him tho) just about sums this guy up
He underestimated Cats tonight and paid the price, i for one can't wait for him to leave and nip over the hills to ruin the good young players at the Bulls too!

| Wello was attrocious tonight. Played with heart, but appears to have caught fumblitis of the Lettuce.
When I look in back in future years at this Saints side, I will know how Wire fans felt all these years. So much potential, so little reward.

Jammer worked hard but I disagree that Moore, Roby and Wello were outstanding. Wello hasn't been outstanding since Wigan and I didn't notice Roby tonight at all really, except when he seemed to get something in his eye. Moore made some terrible passes and his one and only kick was very poor. I don't normally criticise Moore but while he worked hard, he wasn't outstanding.
My praise goes to Meli and Lomax. The rest should be embarrassed by their performance, which was epitomised to me when they all just stood around and let that Catalans player score his try under the posts when he crossed near the touchline. They couldn't be bothered. I exclude Lee Gaskell from that because I felt sorry for him. To have his debut when our team were malfunctioning in such a big way - regardless of the standard of Catalans play (which was good) - was a really naff thing for him.
And what Potter was thinking of with those interchanges. Bloody hell. They were ludicrous.
I hate it when Saints play like that. We had mostly senior players out there. We have won with fewer senior players - and played well, to boot. The conditions were good for us. But our defence was abysmal, our attack fell apart frequently, we dropped the ball sooo many times I lost count and all but one of Wilkin's kicks were rubbish. Had we had half the academy team out because we were crippled with injuries then I would have applauded their efforts but the truth is we hardly had any inexperienced players out there. Only Lee Gaskell, plus Lomax and Ashurst and they are hardly inexperienced now.
I hope most of the senior players have red faces after that match. While we were clearly missing our only two creative players, that we couldn't even execute basic set plays was nothing to do with the lack of Pryce and Eastmond. It was everything to do with a bad attitude. And I really do hate watching Saints when they are like that.

For reference, Wigan is like the Roman Empire. Warrington is like the pillow fort I built in my bedroom when I was 9. Ok, 26...

| I will try to take a couple of positives, well one anyway - Lee Gaskell did well tonight, he didn't hide and tried to do his best. I have to agree with the previous poster re: substitutions why put a winger on the bench? When he came on we were really under pressure & if anything desperately required forward power up the middle. I can't give much credit to the senior players excepting Graham, Moore is a particular problem both in his service from dummy half & his defence, which is fine on the occasional 'big hit' but too often misses. He also struggles to get back in the defensive line too often, leaving an easy target for referees. Interesting even Potter seems to be losing his patience with the way his players are performing, "sometimes the penny has to drop"??

Dwarfs, Gnomes, Halflings/GNOME2.JPG The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.

| Dissapointed yes, but this is the type of game you get with Ian Smith. slow play the balls, lying on , forward passes, offside etc. etc. It was always going to be a tricky game with the amount of injuries and lack of playmakers.
Positives from the game, Dean Gaskill did OK, no more injuries, Wilkin rusty but put in a big effort.
If tonights performance came from our 1st 17 I would agree with the above comments, but this was very much a patched up team with no organizers in the side. Tonights 17 not good enough but thats the only squad we have got left at the moment.
3 good tries from Catalans after being "piggy backed" up the field by Ian Smith.
