| What did we think of the offering from these two contenders?
For me, Warrington should've had it, but choked towards the end. One weak area was that they let Leeds boss the ruck area throughout (and defended poorly there at times)which led directly to two tries for Senior and McGuire as well as consistantly getting a quick PTB.
When Wire were doing thing right, however, Leeds struggled to cope - Warrington's power game up the middle sucked them in well and left frailties out wide - Wire consistantly threatened whenever they attacked Delaney's and McGuire's channels.
The Rhino's showed that they don't need to play well to come up with the victory. They hung in their and when Warrignton couldn't finish them off, they popped up for the win, just like they did against Wigan.
Who would you rather be facing in the playoffs and, given they're both still in it, what do you make of our CC hopes?

icons077e_files/5445-3661prettyflower-msnicons.jpg Parry Gordon's passes,Les Boyd's strong runs,Mike Gregory's workrate,Des Drummond's tries,Jonathan Davies' sheer genius...........oh,and Alan Rathbone's punches! All memories of the legendary venue which was Wilderspool stadium. Gone maybe,but never,ever forgotten.

Your challenge cup hopes are zero from what I heard on sunday after the game. Walking out of the ground and several leeds fans saying "see you at wembley wire".
It seems like they don't see you as even a remote semi-final threat!

so thats two over confident sets of supporters for the semi finals then.
if several leeds fans are saying see you at wembley wire, well im sending my semi tickets back now,it really isnt worth going, infact saints should not bother turning up,if it true what those several leeds fans say.

| IMO if it wasnt for comedy Mathers Wire would've won comfortably. We SHOULD win this one with both our current lineups

| Warrington don't have the ticker when it comes to the games like Sunday's, I always thought Leeds would come away with the game even though they were missing lots of players and looked weak on their right edge during the game. Good win for Leeds under the circumstances, but with a few starting players missing and a very weak bench it's the type of game Warrington should be winning if they have any realistic ambitions of winning SL - they have yet to win against any of the main challengers this season.
Leeds had to dig really deep and it will be hard for them to back up with another similar performance. Saints should have more focus after a fairly lax performance last time out and any performance like the one against Wigan should see us get the win.

| I thought again Keith Senior was quite poor in terms of defence, not the first time i have seen him put in some rather slack defending of late.
Wire had the chances but didnt have the composure.
Brier's short kick off was stupid too which put Leeds on the front foot.

Leeds are still the best team in the competition so if we do have to play them I would hope it's at Knowsley Road with home advantage giving us a chance to knock them out. If somehow we end up playing them at Old Trafford I can only see one outcome
back to back to back to back

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

| Take a look at the tries scored and conceded. Goal kicking, the bain of our existence this season, will continue to be our undoing against our peers.

Too right - we need lots of movement in front of him and McGuire, they make some poor reads in defence and struggle in the tackle too at times.
