| No but IIRC he was brought back to work with Potter (from hudds) so if Potter is leaving at the end of the season maybe he will too ...

| Either that or McCrae is going....especially after Salford's poor start to the season. That would leave the likes of Kieron Cunningham etc. to have a coaching job of somesort within the club.

| Is it me or does everything seem to revolve around KC these days?
Deciding on another year when we have got two hookers.
Even Potter was unable to confirm things last season.
KC and McManus decided between themselves by all accounts.
From this thread Coaches are being moved around to accomodate him.
Scully used the club to suit himself through his testimonial
and since, it looks like KC is starting to do the same.
Lets hope this new statue does not have feet of clay.
Any new coach would be attracted by a new stadium
and coming to a big club , but all will be wary of
the increasing backroom baggage with Scully and now KC.
I am no fan of Potter but I have sympathy with his position
with KC effectively running the show.
KC should cut his teeth in the national leagues rather than picking
and choosing how and when he takes over the club.

I can see were your coming from.
There is always a danger that what could happen is you end up with a cabal of ex players involved with a club and having a negative influence.
However at the same time, players of Scully and KC's experience should also be able to bring something to the club in a positive way. Its one of RL's great weaknesses in the UK that we have tended to cast adrift former players from the game, rather than utilise their knowledge and skills within the game.

| I'd like to see KC charge of the kids for a season or two first, see if he likes it and has what it takes and see what the players think of his training etc.

| as an aspiring coach, rumours like this really wind me up. why should kc (or any super league player for that matter) automatically walk into a coaching position with the first team or academy? they should do their coaching badges and coach at community level just like every other coach. i would give anything to coach full time as my paid job and ex players just walk into coaching jobs. yeah we all know how great he is as a player, but why does that mean he will be a good coach?

| KC was promised Apollo's job but Potter said he wanted to pick his own staff, so KC said right I'll play for another year and hopefully Potter won't be around after that.

| Agree with GM further up. Sometimes you hear tripe that 'oh, well it will be good if Keiron stays as a coach.'
Why?
The guy has no coaching qualifications or experience. Even more telling, is the fact that it is a different world being on the coaching staff all of a sudden and having to confront the harsh relaities of life.
Gone would be the old days of playing camaraderie and friendship and ushered in would be a cold world of resultsm results and tactical analysis.
Sometimes people forget that it is a different world is coaching, and it is one that can impact relationships.
