With Armstrong not playing tonight and Cunnigham being injured for over 40 minutes. We played the game with virtually 2 subs!!

Absolute fantastic effort. Andrew Dixon and Matty Ashurst will let nobody down!! Both great prospects imo. Emmit looks a bit raw but did what was asked. Welldone mates.

With the players we had missing, it was an unbelievable effort, Wigan seemed to be coming home strong and we looked very very tired. Phenomenal effort. Just wait til we have some forwards (!)

Don't forget that Wigan had 4 of their first choice pack out - McIlorum, Hock, Bailey & O'Loughlin.

On reflection, not a bad effort from both sides - 100% from all 17.

I said in the build up neither side could have complaints about injuries if they lost and we can't.


They had some and we had some. The youngsters who came in for us did a great job and it's a fantastic experience for them.

As did Saints - Roby, Faasavalu, Cayless and Hargreaves.

Add that to the fact we had our second choice foward out = Frodsham and some backline players like Wheeler, Long and Lomax and i'd say we have done a great job. Add the fact that Gardner and Wellens where 50 / 50 going into the game and i'd say we've done brilliantly. Add to that that the fact Chris Dean pulled out last minute and Tom Armstrong was unwell to play any minutes and Keiron Cunningham was injured by a cheap shot than i'd say we was foo*ing awesome

I think that the experience both sets of youngsters (saints and wigan) have gained is emence, they will take this and grow even stronger.
