| Most Premier league clubs, if not all, ban it. It's a good idea IMO. Hopefully will reduce the number of idiots deciding to cause a scene because they've had a few.

In case I don't like what? Beer? Or drinking at my seat?
Have you been to Ull in the past few seasons, their ground regs were the same about drinking at seat because their licence didn't cover it. The same is the explanation at Old Trafford.

It's part of the FA Rules, again, IIRC.

Thats because it doesnt have anything to do with the FA. The rules are made by the RFL and the police, they stopped drinking at seats after trouble a few years back.

I was with a group of 15 last year and we were allowed to take drinks to our seat.
however my brother in the west stand had his confiscated by a steward.
We are NOT football fans and most people are not idiots.

Appreciate that BG but its not Football as defined by the act which says:
"An Act to control the admission of spectators at designated football matches in England and Wales........"
I've also done an adobe word search for "alcohol" in the pdf version of the Act and there is no reference to no alcohol at your seat. Are you making this up?

| Just because its a football stadium doesnt mean everything that happens in that stadium has to abide by football regulations. What about dual stadiums like KC and DW. It all depends on the governing body which is hosting the game which the RFL. For example Wembley doesnt serve alcohol at all when they are hosting international matches because they are governed by FIFA which dont allow it but when its the FA cup final or anything like that the game is governed by the FA and alcohol is served on the concourses.

I was responding to Ski and his FA rules.
Sorry wrong act, this is the one Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc) Act 1985 (as amended).
Many stadiums just enforce a blanket ban on drinking within sight of the pitch regardless of the code of football being played, the old Wembley was one, Hull's stadium did too till this season.

That was always my (obviously incorrect) understanding of the situation.

| If my memory serves me correct, it was banned in 2009 and I remember the stewards constantly going into rows of seats to take ale of people. Wasn't the fighting in 2008 not 2007?
