Wishful thinking. Already on record current deal is a take it or leave it final offer. He signs it or he doesnt, the contract aint gonna change. Difficult as Ellis will be on a bomb, and cap space is obv tight. IMO if he was going to sign it, he already would have done.

Under Brown we may be competing next season...you never know.

Nope, the pre 2008 rule was brought in to protect the earnings of players already in SL. The exemption stands until the player retires or leaves SL. I don't know if it would stand if a player goes back to the NRL then returns to Super League but it definitely does for cross SL signings. |

If it did, we could just go to the RFL and beg them to change the rules, like Wigan do everytime you are struggling to fit your overseas players under the cap. |
