If you watch the kick again, you can see the Catalan player jumps no where near the ball his jump is entirely timed to knock Makinson. If he was challenging for a ball, then he needs to actually get near the ball not just jump into a man.

I agree it's a 50/50 call, but sometimes they go for you other times they don't.

However I see from your massive 12 posts you missed all the poor calls Saints got.

It's a shame we are talking about the ref when we've just seen a top class exciting game.

I think it was 100% try. How the video ref can't give a try when he can watch it over and over in slow motion is unreal.

I understand the challenging for the ball, but seriously when he jumps he gets no where near the ball, he's already coming down before the ball hits makinsons hand.

I can see it both ways and yes it could have gone the other way, but for me if you are challenging on a kick you have to actually go for the ball and not just the man.

I would have been spitting fire if we'd lost a game to that decision, but it's hard to argue with it. Millard doesn't get near the ball and moves Makinson a few feet. It's lucky for Makinson though, he made a right mess of it and it would have cost us the game. The mistakes are creeping into his game.

I'd have been gutted if it was Saints and on balance I'd say it was a try.

However, Millard jumps and gets nowhere near the ball, yet it's his jump into Makinson which leads to the ball ending up loose over the line. I can understand why there was doubt.
