| Quote: brearley84 "not heard anything about you signing him but makes sense as he is out of contact at the end of the season... and he is behind murphy and mcgillvary... he managed to get ahead of luke george.
never really had a good run of games with us but not let us down when he has played, has put on alot of size last few seasons and runs the ball back strong.
was well thought of when we signed him from cas but got a bad injury.
think we are offloading dawson and george so we can get jodie broughton
Broughton signed for you a few weeks back.

| It makes sense though, it sounds like he was a Brown signing for Hudds, but has struggled with injury. Brown has obviously seen something in him to sign him twice.
As others have said, if he's big, reasonably fast and has a least a modicum of either sense or co-ordination, then he'll be an improvment on Ade Gardner.

If we were looking to allocate a big chunk of cap to a winger when there are such glaring deficiencies in more pivotal positions, I'd be very concerned.

| The importance of this signing is only weighted correctly once we know the value of other signings.
If we simply have this fella and Walsh. Then it's a poor turn around.
However, when looking at signings in a capped sport, you have to look at the overall turnover for the year. With wingers I'm not overly concerned we've not had an awesome winger since Darren Albert and still managed to play well.
Wingers are really bottom of my worry list. The trouble with today is that everyone wants the inside info on every signing, 2 months before they happen.

And yet Hudds manage it without having a cack squad , as do Wigan with Charnley , Leeds with Jones -Bishop and Hall etc etc.
so it look like Hudds sign a top winger to be first choice and improve there squad and we sign there 3rd or 4th choice winger to help them free up a crumb of cap space , nothing like scraping the barrell .. great stuff
"world class team for a world class stadium" has never been less apt

Maybe if we weren't giving Flanagan, Gardner (and Laffranchi?) new contracts we'd be able to bring in more high quality players?

Just about sums it all up; playing second fiddle to a club which had an average attendance in 2012 of 7709 against ours of over 14,000, although its probably closer for this season.
Perhaps players want to go to clubs that are playing well.

| No offence to any of you lot but Dawson is average at best you must have someone in your ranks somewhere who is as good as he is, if not Greg Johnson at Batley would be a far better bet had a few personal problems in the past but seems to have got over them now

I'm sure when Brown and Rush were seen at the Batley game last month, Greg Johnson was mentioned.
However bad you think he is, if he's big and reasonably fast he'll be an improvement on Gardner.
The problem is if we then resign Gardner as well.
Besides, he's being given a second chance to put injury behind him and make it, by a coach that obviously beleves in him. Add to that, its for a big club that is out of sorts and will possibly/probably/hopefully be improving (we can't get worse, surely?), its a chance to really make a mark on the game.

It's like the rumours of re-signing Wello when we know he isnt/wont be first choice fullback and is terrible in every other position. Keeping either or both of these guy's would be an appalling decision
