In a similar vein to Matty Smith, we simply can't keep all the youngsters when they know they're not a starting 17 player. I hope Emmit goes well, and Classy Cas is a nice club for our lad to go to, since most of us have no i'll feeling to them.

There's also Paul Johnson who made a couple of appearances from the bench this year ....... unless he's leaving as well !!!

That wasn't the case with Emmitt, though. He was made an offer in that he states he could have stayed at Saints. So far as any of us are aware, Saints didn't make an offer to Matty Smith. So Emmitt is leaving for a better offer rather than because he couldn't get into the starting 17, which he might well have done simply because I can't see us existing on just two props all season!

I don't really follow with the last bit about 2 props, but I imagine Saints offer was an amount relating to a back up/squad member/youngster, whereas Cas's would be that of a first team regular, so probably a larger amount.

Jammer/Perry/LMS/TP - I make that four. Five if you include Clough (he is clearly used in that role).

Those 5 are all better propos than Emmitt.

I think he's played a bit of prop for the U20s, but doesn't look anywhere near big enough to play prop for the 1sts (although there was a time we may have said that about Clough).

I thought TP was a second rower? And is LMS a prop or a second rower? I've not watched Quins enough to determine what his exact position is. He doesn't look like a prop anyway! I'd only considered Jammer and Perry as props.

LMS is a prop.
I think Tony was signed as a back rower, but has been playing prop for ages. I think we all fell in love with the idea of having a big guy out wide like Lauititi for Leeds used to, but he's proved far more useful for us when he spends the majority of his time in the centre of the park.
