blimey that red button must be a really good source of information. Reading that one would assume you were a real fan.

| Only saw it the once at the game obviously but it never even occurred to me that it might have been illegal in any way so would be surprised if it was. Hope Roby is ok.

Too be fair I did cringe when everyone started cheering, but it was noway in a malicous way. once the crowd realised he was staying down it soon stopped. I don't think you can blame hull fans for cheering a big hit. It is a big part of the game and the vast majority of collisions involve 1 player trying to hurt (legally) another player.
Roby got a strong round of applause when leaving the field which more than made up for the initial reaction

Everyone was hoping it was Fozzard
Nah, there was a cheer - like there is when any big hit occurs - but it soon stopped when it became evident that he wasn't getting back up, and both sets of fans clapped him off.
From where I was sat, it didn't appear like there was any intent to hurt Roby, just potential bad technique by either player (I didn't have the best spot to see that incident, as it was at the other end of the pitch, and a player was in the way slightly).
I have to say though, the linesman had to step in twice because of Meli being a dirty bugger.

| I was at the game and I thought Shrek just run in hard, and just stook a flat hand out and clattered Robes. I could be wrong, but that was how I saw it. Looked fair play to me, but would love to see on reply incase he did a "fozzard" ! Robes hit the deck and the back of his head basicaly broke his fall, no arms out to stop him just WHAMO head broke the fall. Real nasty injury, but he got up and walked off, god knows how the chaps feeling right now.

I'm sure he'll be ok after all he's a rugby league player. Could you imagine a premiership footballers reaction to a impact like that, he'd still be there now

Front page headline and back page, and every TV station in the world " soccer star gets knocked to floor, gets up and walks off, read his story this week only in the mail on monday" the soccerette would be a hero, and deemed the hardest man in foozball or such like.
Does the 2 week concussion thing still stand these days. Or is it a case f you get a head test and if you can see straight and count to 6 on one hand your fit to play on ? I forget were we are upto on that auld rule, anyone know ?

Can you post the links to all these reports of an illegal charge please?
All I can find are:
Skysports, Yorkshire Post, Telegraph: "With England hooker Roby leaving the field after a heavy collision"
St Helens Star: Sadly, Hull countered with James Roby helped off after sustaining a head injury in trying to make a tackle.
Press Association don't reference it at all in their report.

Fair enough, but someone on here posted that there were "a few reports" of it being illegal. Not sure where all these independent reports of it as such are.
It also says:
For Hull, Richard Agar had a number of fit players to choose from; naming a very strong side featuring Sean Long, the excellent Jordan Tansey and Jordan Turner. Willie Manu also came into the second row.
But conveniently ignores the fact we were missing Berrigan, Horne, Calderwood and Lauaki and Sean Long had been ill and not eaten since Thursday morning.
..so not the most balanced review. Didn't look anything in the incident to me.

Roby was owned. Doesn't take anything away from Roby as a player.
As for the forearm, difficult to tell from the stands, both for fans and commetators. If its on report, then it will be looked at by the RFL and we'll see. I suspect there was nothing wrong with it though.

Oh stop been a p***y.
Its Rugby League. Of course Hull fans are going to cheer a big hit and the fact that it was a big enough hit to knock the wind out of him - I've watched many Saints games at KR were your fans have reacted exactly the same - and like Saints fans, once Hull fans realised he was going to need help to leave the field there was the usual respectful applause.
Stop been so bloody PC. Its sports, it always been that way. If you don't like it, I believe the new Sex in the City movie is out.

It looked to me like Ogre saw Roby about to blind side him and just dropped his shoulder and Roby took his shoulder straight to the chin. I'm positive there was no foul play, just one of those unfortunate things that happen sometimes.
